Favorite Player/Character Select Screens?

So, I know we get a lot of "favorite title screen" threads, but I don't remember ever seeing one for favorite character select screens.

I've been playing a lot of Mortal Kombat X recently, and I have to say I really really like how the character select has animated intros for each character, along with taunts and an animation as they walk away. It's a really nice extra layer of presentation that you usually don't see in these types of selection screens. For those who haven't played it, I made a quick gif from a youtube video:

Another character select screen that comes immediately to mind is MvC2. I remember seeing all of those character slots for the first time and just being in awe:

So what about you guys?

I liked Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3's character select screen:

Resembling a comic book was a nice touch. Annoying now though since the DLC has been removed so if you didn't buy it you have two empty slots up there.

Nothing beats MVC2 for me. That huge globe of characters was amazing to look at. Also "I'm Gonna Take You For A Ride" never gets old.

Honorable Mention: Super Smash Bros Brawl
because snake is on there.Chilling with his boy Ike.

Marvel vs Capcom 1 character select screen is one of my all time favorites. Not to mention it has one of the best character select themes too.

Also love the nice touches to the character names too.

Honestly I preferred CVS2's character select screen more. Especially since it combined the two different artstyles for both series.

That's the boring regular Vs one from CVS1. (The one on my screen is the one that appears when you challenge someone one story mode)

CVS2 lacked a lot of flair compared to the original, even though it was a better game.

Another one I really liked is the original Guilty Gear X one

Sadly those screens are really hard to find on a search engine, due to the poor naming of the series.

How could I forget this one for Metal Slug

Is funny, because they intentionally made every character ugly compared to their usual designs. Like they where in a hurry and couldn't find good pictures, so they cropped the ones that where tagged on Facebook.

I always liked the choose a class in Diablo II, with the highlighted class being animated. I think Diablo III does it as well, but I'm not sure. A shame that you could only see that when creating new characters.

I prefer the first Streets of Rage's character select because it's clean and the sprites actually fight instead of doing an idle animation.

Dungeons and Dragons: Tower of Doom also had a pleasing title screen. I like how they're placed and how they would look at you if they were selected or highlighted.

The animations they do after getting selected makes it better.

I always kind of liked the way that Tekken 6 would load up the fighter you chose, and then pan around them with some cool camera angles. It took a little while to load them though.

And purely out of nostalgia, and the excitement of seeing a new face in your kingdom's lineup, Dynasty Warriors 4

Bit different from the other ones here, but the character select for Phantasy Star Online 2 is really cool.

The whole thing is an extension of the title screen. You select your ship (server) and then it does this really cool zoom in effect.

Afterwords you see the inside of the ship and your characters standing there.

These are all from the Vita version, but the PC version is almost identical. It's really awesome with all the futuristic aspects. Definitely one of my favorite character selects from a modern MMORPG.

Street Fighter Alpha 3 for me.
The transition to the fights where your chosen ISM collapses onto the screen looks so cool.
