Favorite urban legends in gaming?

The building across the water in the Dam level of Goldeneye. The myth was that there was a secret weapons cache in there. I had to look it up just now to see if it was actually true or not.

You can suck my tiny yellow balls

And the "resurrection" of Leo in Final Fantasy 6

hahahahahahahahah Shit? Is this real? If so its the greatest thing ever

Cyber Akuma being a secret character in Marvel VS Streetfighter. I guess I shouldn't call it my favorite, since I was really pissed when I found out it was false.

Being able to play as Ocelot in the MGS 2 demo. Or that whole hoax about Snake being playable in the Big Shell. Good times.

I've read that too. I guess they could have been reverse-engineered from the script with no way to trigger them in game.

Unused files exist in many games. What kind of dialogue anyway? Maybe just erased lines from her "lifestream reincarnation" in some flashbacks or whatever

I remember hearing about some new Strider for the original Xbox floating around.

That and Shinobi supposedly being a port from the Dreamcast to PS2.

Sometimes I still wonder...

Sonic Adventure had some fun ones. Special Chao (some of which were real), unopenable doors, and such.

The one that probably drove me the most crazy was in Megaman Legends 2. There's a screen on the back of the box that shows a town that isn't in the game. It used to be debated whether or not if it was a secret in the game.

In all likelihood, it was probably just an early version of Nino Island or something, but the presence of the blue-haired girl made it seem noteworthy, as she stood out so much.

Can you show them? Havent saw

- In the Japanese version, Aeris speaks at certain points after you use the
GameShark to get her back. She has dialog in certain points in the game on
Disc 2 and Disc 3 (She dies at the end of Disc 1), and this shouldn't be so if
she was originally meant to be revived at some part in the game.

All that I can find at the moment. Could have sworn I've seen something more detailed.

Taping a coin to the SNES version of Mortal Kombat to unlock blood was an april fools that developed a bit of shelf life back then.

Beating Balio & Sunder in their first battle of BOFIII due to the strategy guide being mistranslated or somesuch. Glad I heard about it well after I'd completed the game and never had a chance to embark on that particularly quixotic quest.

To this day I swear while playing Super Mario Bros on NES the game would occasionally glitch and get those fragmented graphics where things would look 'reversed' -- I beat the first stage and I could see Mario actually pulling up the flag after he entered the castle, since the door was no longer completely black. Never seen it confirmed.

All the good ones are taken, so I'll go with changing the age in DOA2 changing the bounce on the girls. I still see people spouting this nonsense, too.

Luigi in Mario 64 was everywhere for a few years. Remember that one big site that had a billion codes for unlocking him? Later it turned into a Maniac Mansion fanpage.

A warp zone in the final stage of Battle Toads that leads you back to the very first level.

The moves you use while the eyes are open are used on you by your doppelganger in Double Dragon 2 NES.
