Favourite arcade game at the moment

I just started working at Dave and Busters, I am reminded every shift how few new arcade games there are :(

I was suprised to see this game in my local arcade center and holy shit at the framerate, unacceptable in the arcade format!

My dad is obsessed with this game.

When I saw it I was all "psh, I don't know about this," but it's pretty damn fun, actually.

It's so great. 100% basic compared to anything out today, but I'll pick it up for one game and play for five hours. :lol
 
After Burner Climax. I can get 97% on Stage 1 and get to Stage 7 on one credit...I haven't been getting better lately though.

Also MvC2 and Super Nova.
 
I still have yet to play Virtua Cop 3 or Lethal Enforcers 3. I've seen them before, too, but didn't get the chance to play.

I can barely get 1% in each stages. I just suck at that game, for now :(
 
The best part of TC4 is the first level. You're going through it, kicking a bunch of ass, all this shit is going on, and then you realize it's the goddamn Prologue! You didn't GET to Level 1 yet.

I was discouraged after seeing the word "prologue", knowing that I've waisted at least 2 bucks.

Seriously. I think the game is so awesome because it's 100% about exploiting the stupidity of the robots. It'd be really dull if they didn't run into each other and walls and whatnot.
 
Playing VF5, sooooooooometimes Tekken 5 DR and SF3 3rd Strike. I entered a Battle Fantasia tourney this past weekend but I can't play the game at all. I gotta read up on some strats and movelists and stuff. The game is kinda clunky and not all that popular though. :(

granted I havent been in an arcade in about 14 months, but when I did go I got into some great races with other people there.

I have a soft spot for the HOTD games. I just wish HOTD3 would have been released on something other than the Xbox.

Hopefully it'll get a port alongside HOTD4 on the PS3.

That and Silent Scope Complete would be the only two Xbox games I ever buy.

At that point I was thinkinh, "THIS GAME IS AWESOME"

Best part about these arcade games, don't have to drive to play em' :) !
 
I haven't played at an arcade for years since my local SEGA Park closed down, but the other day I unexpectedly found an old Darkstalkers cabinet in a pool hall - the first arcade machine i've played in about 4 years :)
 
Been a looong while since I visited an arcade, but definitely Hydro Thunder. Driving a 'Very Hard' boat on a 'Very Hard' track = Force Feedback galore. Frikkin' intense...

Surprised to see that mentioned. Was a great game but never popular. Still one of the hardest games to beat on one credit, but oh so worth it.

I didn't even know there was a Lethal Enforcers 3. Does anyone have any screenshots?

I've been digging HOTD 4, Afterburner Climax, and Mario Kart GP. Those rock. Terror Gold (think that is the name) is pretty cool too. Sort of an unofficial sequel to Maximum Force.

Sadly the only time I get to play them is on vacation. All the arcades in my area closed :(
 
Yeah. There's DEFINITELY an LE3. I saw the cabinet for it at GameWorks one time. God damn HUGE machine. Serious squad based stuff. Imagine Ghost Squad, but with the theme of the Police 9/11 cops.

I know I played a Raw Thrills gun game once. It was a terrorist one. A satellite would go across the screen and you could shoot it for a power up. It even had suicide bombers. It ****ing rocked. The only sucky part was the last level, because it wouldn't let you continue on it. So I never beat it. :(

I also got really good at one of those Extreme Hunting games. Bear/Moose or something like that. They're fun, but holy hell are the games short. The Extreme Shooting Challenge USA, or whatever it is, with the clear gun and the faked laser scope is ALSO really awesome. Give it a shot sometime.
