I had that same book! Marvel's Deluxe Handbook of the Dead, or something. It's also where I first learned about Scourge, whom I also thought was pretty rad.

First cover I always think of is Rai #0.
It came out at a time when I cared about collecting comics more than I cared about reading them. I remember going to the shop every Wednesday and looking at it on the wall. Finally saved enough money to buy it (I was 13 when it came out) and treated it like a treasure.

Another sentimental favorite. My father and I used to read Punisher books together. It was his favorite Marvel character. He passed away and didn't get a chance to read Punisher 75..which sucked because it was the conclusion of a pretty good story arc.
I always liked the fact that he calls Tim "detective".

Come on, OP. It defined a generation.
My first comics that I had were Wolverine and XMen related. It was because of Jim Lee's art, which then translated into my love of all things Jim Lee. Good thing he did Batman and Superman.
That being said, this is my favorite picture of Batman

As far as pages, too many to post from J.H. Williams III in Batwoman. Some magnificent art and paneling.
Cover? Hmm. I'll have to go with 52 #12, Black Adam and Isis - for everything the story had been up to to that point and everything after. Close second is the final issue of Vertigo Constantine because damnit I loved that book and read it my entire adult life.

Astonishing X-Men has so many amazing pages though.
Love or hate what happened to Hal the cover is famous, in thirty years it'll be remembered as iconic.

How could I forget?! Goosebumps throughout the entire God bomb arc in Thor:
So many classics to mention... I was fortunate enough that when I was very very young I found a comic with Iron Man and Dr Doom facing off in the cover, which intrigued me, but nothing could prepare me for what I'd find inside, most pages were amazing. Mind you, I found that in Portuguese, so only many year later didn I find the story'original name was Doomquest, which is basically about Iron Man and Dr Doom being sent together to Camelot:
This wont be a movie anytime soon, but frankly, the big screen would have a hard time keeping up.
Another classic of my youth, vividly remembered to this day, with way too many awesome pages to do justice here, Nobody Stops the Juggernaut - despite the story's name, the task falls to Spiderman, dealing with Juggernaut getting a human McGuffin in New York, and deciding to get it by crossing the city in a straight line, regardless of whatever's in front of him:
This one I didn't read, but found this pic thanks to GAF, and I kind of love it:
I didn't read this either, but I love this cover, although the actual comic's art can't keep up with this cover:
And to top it all off, an old favorite, Gunnm:

Seeing Black Adam never gets old, its hard to root against him, even during WW3 (though him leveling an entire country is fucked up). Would be awesome to see this in a Shazam movie, and everyone would be talking about it if it was pulled off right, replacing Firestorm with Shazam.
you're goddamn right. It's one awesome moment after another. Colossus owning is also a big plus for me, since he's my fav X-man

Because Sabretooth is my all time favorite Marvel character, my favorite cover is the below.
Its raw, its angry and in my head, its how I like to picture Sabretooth.
My favorite page showed Punisher hip-firing an LMG and mowing down scores of mobsters who were running and shooting at him. He blew off the top of one guys head there. It was awesome.
Unfortuately, I couldnt find it on Google images. I found this other pic of Punisher instead. lol
My final image, I discovered whilst looking for Sabretooth killing some ninjas with Birdy (couldnt find that one either). This Psylocke image linked back to Deviantart, so Im not sure if its even in a comic, but if it is, I want to read it. She's even wearing her legendary thongkini! So good.

I had an omnibus ( I believe it was that) that had these images, I was like 9 years and I always love those stories. Wish I could find that book.

Really love this.
it's the Planetary version of Doc Savage, called Doc Brass. The whole book is full of different versions of characters from books and comic books, both Marvel and DC. You will love the fact that the main villains are a sickeningly amoral, egomaniacal and completely ruthless version of the Fantastic Four. And yes, Planetary is a definite must read
