Ferrari 458 driver runs over cop's foot in Soho. Youtube is there!

At first I thought this was a comedy sketch, the way he just sauntered up to his car, seemingly ignored the cop and went about his business (which apparently includes driving over/through a copper). It was too surreal.

And I won't lie, watching that guy get man handled like that cracked me up. The only thing that would have made me laugh more were if the copper had c walked after dropping him...

Sorry for crossing the streams

Dumb of the driver to think he can just wheel off with no repercussions, but that cop was about as stupid putting his foot in front of the tire to try and stop the guy. Two delusional egomaniacs who thought "pssht, this guy isn't shit, I'm the big dog here!" and both of them suffered for it.

In a just world, that cop would be on crutches for a few months and that dude would need a new pair of front teeth for the face plant he took. They still wouldn't learn anything, though.

what? I really don't like (street level) cops but he was totally in the right and not acting like and egomaniac. Too bad the douchebag probably doesn't even has to pay a fine cause his daddy is friends with someone important..

Oh and those shoes are spectacularly ugly.

When this was on the front page of reddit the common consensus was that the guy wasn't getting a parking ticket but was getting a ticket for not having a street legal car (no front license plate) which is required wherever this took place.

The driver was a fucking idiot, but the cop is absolutely full of shit. His foot wasn't under the tire and and no point was it.

>Rolls forward
>few seconds later
>AH MY FOOT
>car doesn't move at all
>His foot "gets out" from underneath it.

Yeah, bullshit. And with how crooked the NY judicial system is I expect that idiot driver to lose.

I agree with most posters here, but the cop did put his foot in front of his car. Dumb ass fro driving and getting in more trouble, what are you gonna do.

You dont think punching his window was too much? and if he had no where else to go thats even more reason to not act like a maniac.

HE RAN OVER HIS FUCKING FOOT, who moves there car AT ALL when a cop is talking to them? who? besides a fucking dumb ass

if you have eyes it is clear he did not...

how does one go from having their foot run over to ripping someone out of the car if his fucking foot is supposed to be under the car...

oh I forgot the driver has money. Automatically guilty no matter what. Totally justifies the filing of a bullshit lawsuit.

Man GAF sucks about police issues...

I know the cop was in the right but he was stupid for putting his foot in front of a car. I wouldn't trust that punkass not to run me over.

Not sure why there are multiple comments about the cop being dumb for putting his foot in front of a moving vehicle. All you have to do is watch the video to see clearly that the car wasn't started until after the cop had already moved. He was probably thinking to himself "Is this douche going to try and dodge this ticket? I'll just lean against his car to make it obvious so he won't try and move, no one is that dumb".

He even said "stop the car" multiple times before escalating it.

Plus look at the total douche look he gives the cop while getting into the car at the start "Oh I KNOW you ain't writin' that ticket for ME, 'cause my daddy gonna get your ass fired!"

Is Line Snob Co-Founder The Ferrari Snob Who Ran Over Cop’s Foot?
By Daniel Edward Rosen 8/05

A video has hit the Internet today detailing perhaps the douchiest interaction between a Ferrari owner and an NYPD officerÂ’s foot to ever happen outside the Mercer Hotel.

Is this the Ferrari Foot Smasher? (photo, by Natalie Brasington, from Entrepreneur.com)
The owner of the $257,000 red Ferrari 458, Julien Chabbott, accused of the foot smashing, could very well be the same man who co-founded the fittingly named “Line Snob” smartphone app (which aims to “tackle” waiting in lines—or crush it with a coupe tire).

In the video, filmed by bystander Damian Mory, Police Officer Felix Recio is filling out a ticket for Mr. ChabbottÂ’s car for parking in a no standing zone, for not having a registration sticker, and for not having an inspection sticker, according to an NYPD spokesman and the criminal complaint.

Officer Recio told Mr. Chabbott “I’m writing you a summons. Please stand on the sidewalk,” according to the criminal complaint.

Mr. Chabbott, 28, of Midtown South, first tried to snatch the summons out of Officer RecioÂ’s hands, then walked inside 147 Mercer Street, the address for The Mercer Hotel, the criminal complaint adds.

Mr. Chabbott, who was reportedly there with girlfriend (and former “The Hills” player) Stephanie Pratt, then returned to the car to announce “I’m leaving.”

Mr. Chabbott was “specifically told by the officer to not get into the car and to not leave, and that’s exactly what he did,” the NYPD spokesman added.

What happens next is, well, see for yourself:

Mr. Chabbott was arrested and charged with second-degree assault (a felony charge), vehicular assault, obstructing governmental administration, and disorderly conduct, the NYPD said.

As for Officer Recio: “He has an injury to his left foot and right hand, he was treated and released, and is out on an injury, out of the line of duty,” the NYPD spokesman added.

He pleaded not guilty to charges in Manhattan Criminal Court this morning.

If confirmed, Mr. Chabbott is the same man behind Line Snob, which is “a location-based social network that monitors lines and provides wait times,” it says on its website.

In a 2010 Entrepreneur.com article, Mr. Chabbott said he and business partner Eric Adler created the app as “it was the perfect time to use the power of crowds.”

As the opening sentence in the article points out, “Eric Adler and Julien Chabbott hate waiting in lines.”

He also hates waiting for a police officer to finish filling out a summons, evidently.

An email to Line Snob requesting comment was not returned by press time.

Man GAF sucks about police issues...

usually not against cops, but anyone suggesting his foot was actually ran over either didn't watch the video, or is just siding with the cop cause the guy was driving a Ferrari.

Driver was a total idiot. Doesn't mean the cop should go around trying to cash out on a bs charge.

Plus look at the total douche look he gives the cop while getting into the car at the start "Oh I KNOW you ain't writin' that ticket for ME, 'cause my daddy gonna get your ass fired!"

And it is comments like this that are making me think it is the Ferrari. Did I miss something, or did he not get his money from releasing apps?

According to the report, the August 4 SoHo incident left the 34-year-old officer with "a swollen foot and bruising."

10 million for that????

Recio continued, "I believe he deliberately drove towards me with an intent to hurt me." Recio is suing for personal injury and says he has not been able to work since the incident

Really? Shitty fucking people trying to get paid.

Fuck the driver but man him suing is going a bit overboard. Trying to milk whatever you can out of the rich douche I guess.

cop was a douchebag, powertripping total. didnt even look like the car even injured the cop that much either, considering he had no problem punching his windows, dragging him out and standing around for a while. someone is just trying to get a paycheck. 10 mil LOL, fuck outta here.

guy is a dumbass for even trying to move his car though. just sit inside and take your summons.

both were dickheads.

yeah now that i rewatched a few times, no way in hell that car went over the foot.

Well, I guess he figures that the driver is rich and he'll try to get some dough through a settlement. He isn't going to get any money out of this guy, though.

Watched the video again, and man the NYPD officer snatched that dude out of the car like he weighed nothing.

How was his foot even bruised? A car will lift up when going over a garden hose. It doesn't lift at all.
Suspension systems, how do they work? Plus it does have to go completely over his foot to inflict damage. It could've rolled a bit to pin his foot under the weight of the car. Either way the driver shouldn't have even started the car.

Reading the report was even a ticket, or a "fix the issues by the court date or pay the fine" type of ticket.

Either way if the cop stops you, you are detained and not free to leave untill the officer dismisses you.

Again did you not even bother to watch the video? How much effort does it look like he uses when he goes from saying his foot is being run over to just moving it out from under the car...

eyes like how to those work?

Ferraris, known for their pillow like suspensions

Yeah, the car gained no elevation at all. It may have touched his foot, but no way did it run over it.

Also I've had my foot run over by a truck much heavier than that car and it really didn't even hurt, just some slight discomfort.
