FFCC: The Crystal Bearers Website (Releasing NA 26.12.09)

Just watched the video and I'm not even sure what it was I watched. That was pretty lame. <sigh> Nothing like deflating all the hype. Heh, heh.

Story of the game, in spanish.

Yukos have dissapeared, no more magic in the world. The world uses the technologies of the Liltis and the crystals are used dor industrial purposes.

Well that was a bit of an anti-climax. I'm sure SE can keep adding random pieces of unedited game footage to the site for months (years) until the game is released.

So, it really is going to be the new Dojo.
Random updates. Some awesome, most stinkers.

I have no idea what is happening in that video. Really, what the hell?

Anyway, about that sentence. Sorry, it was sort of an April fools joke. I got it from this. :lol

Ooook. What did I just watch.

And why was it dubbed "It's gonna be a long night" when there's green goblin things and a bomb thing... and the goblin things are clearly in love with the bomb thing... and... oh god. Interracial promiscuity! There can be no other explanation! S-E is peddling animal(?) prons on their website!

Anyway, it seems as if we'll be able to control enemies (or masquerade as them?). Maybe? I really don't know, but I think it looked like someone controlled that bomb.

Open-ended gameplay, nice.

What the fuck was that.

This game better get blown out at E3. At least accompany the video with some text explaining what the hell is going on, and why you're showing us that, of all things.

Watch the first JP trailer. The guy seems to be able to control monsters at a certain point, and I guess Goblins like Bombs (they always toss em in FFXI among other FF games, so I guess thats why) so they wont attack a Bomb monster.

Why they showed such a simple video? I dunno, but I dont think its that hard to interpret.

Judging by the P.R and the worldwide teaser site, I think its pretty safe to assume this is coming out this year, possibly in all regions.

"It's gonna be a long night"

Are they anticipating that we will be loosing sleep trying to figure out what the hell that video meant?

I loved the art style in Crystal Chronicles. I dare say it looked better than anything SE put out on the PS2, even if XII looked phenomenal. This looks a little barren by comparison, but it's also much larger in scope. I'm really liking the main character in this one, too.

Bring it on.

Hm... no more Yukes, huh? That sounds pretty interesting. The Yukes were definitely the most interesting of all of the races (what's under that damn helmet?), so I'd definitely be interested in seeing where this goes.

Wow that video was.....interesting

I would guess since the monster had shiny stuff over him that you are controlling him, it looks like video you would shoot when you are letting someone go hands on with a game and they do not know what they are doing

What was that supposed to be about?? What was the purpose?? What was going on??

Was that a farm you have monsters to keep? can you catch monsters?

why were these ogers in love with the bomb??

I... I don't know what the game's main gameplay is...

I think they actually slid a reference to making love. In french, the translation of this expression is clearly sexual-oriented. That kinda shocked me.

Watch the official trailer. The youtube video makes no sense, I don't know why they even bothered. :\

Well, there was one in the trailer... And it appears that there's nothing under the helmet.

now I'm interested.

is it just me, or have the Selkes disappeared as well? I didn't notice any in the trailer.

There's a red haired Selkie featured in the trailer. When that Layle tosses that log at the Yuke, she fires it back at the Selkie guy.

:lol

that video is awesome. orcs tryin to have an orgy and giant bomb all like, heeeeeeeell noooooooooooo

I remember when selkies used to have blue hair *sigh*
When did they stop? Selkies have blue hair in Echoes of Time. Just cause one Selkie has red hair in Crystal Bearers, all of then now do? (Also they had red haired Selkies in the original.)

Do you know more about the involvement of Gazprom in this game?

I wouldn't try now. Yesterday after it was first filled, it wasn't able to be filled again for 24 hours since it opened. That's about 10PM EST.

Damn, that video pretty much killed all their hype. Way to go SquareEnix. Whoever made that decision should be smacked.

Does everybody here have a memory shortage that they can't even recall the first minute of the 2nd major trailer (since the game was revised from the chibi-form @ E3'06)?

Of course we remember that. That video was long and it shows actual GAMEPLAY. People can understand that. However, this video they showed didn't have anything for people to relate to. It's just some bomb guy running around and little goblin guys with hearts over their head. It would have been different with some sort of commentary as to what was going on, or a note on a particular feature from the game.

What do you mean?
Its clearly showing us dynamic range behavioral AI for the enemies in the game.
Like the new monster hunter is trying to do, enemies react differently and dynamically in the environment depending on the situations they are in.

So here, this kind of stuff can be happening in the game world as your journeying around. Perhaps you can use this to your advantage in combat, luring a mob of goblins to a roaming bomb for example, as this causes a conflict and you can escape or engange. Looks pretty awesome to me.

I am sure other videos and probably some more interviews will flesh out what this video was about, this site very much seems like a Dojo type site.

I doubt it killed any hype for the game, quite the opposite as people are talking about wtf was that

ok you REALLY analyzed that little video. i mean it COULD be showing us something like that, but you speak as if this is -definitely- what the video is showing, instead of any number of other possibilities.

It really is an odd strange video to be given without context. I think people are right to be confused at this. :lol
