FFX Vita - First 2 hours video footage

Love FF X cannot wait. Kinda happy Vita version coming out in march so i can get Bravely Default played out by then. Going to get PS3 version as well though just to support this and give them a reason to do the best FF in HD remaster.

That would be FF XII.

It looks really good. Bit better than the PS2 version, which is good enough for me.
Can't wait to see what it looks like on OLED (since I believe he said the colours were washed out due to the recording device). Only 3 more months :(

Kween in gloriousT HD.

I think it looks and sound really great, but then again, this will be my first time playing X. Only played XII from the PS2 batch of Final Fantasies.

I am glad I have a Vita, because I would definitely not want to play a (probably) long ass game like this one, on a home console.

Mmmm, looks delicious. Can't wait for this. Getting both the PS3 and Vita physical versions. Wonder how long before SE releases the OST as DLC...

I'm very happy to see the vita version being treated with care, it was worrying how SE didn't show the game running on the vita at all.

This game is less linear than Sands of Destruction. And arguably a better battle system. You still travel through areas that are connected like a world would be, just no world map.

What other RPGs do you like?

Hmm, Grandia, BOF, Wild Arms, Chrono Trigger, Mario & Luigi series... etc.

Actually excited for this.

This was the only FF game I was ever really hyped for, had it preordered and everything, cancelled my preorder just before launch... Probobly due to all my MGS2 and Xbox/Gamecube hype.

Always wanted to go back though.

Words cannot express my excitement for this. I still really wish this came out during the holidays in the US to fully capture the nostalgia for me. This was one of my most memorable Christmas-time video games (next to FFX-2 and DQVIII).

Looks much better than I expected actually. Almost to the point I don't even care about the frame rate.

Hmm, Grandia, BOF, Wild Arms, Chrono Trigger, Mario & Luigi series... etc.

I think you would be fine with FFX:) The battles are turn based goodness. What did you not like about FFVIII? VIII is kind of an oddball in the series.

I was having a good time watching the first two hours of gameplay, scratching all those nostalgia itches of the good old PS2 days. And then come the four consecutive 'tutorial' battles after leaving the village that make the encounter rate look like it's one every 3 steps. I fucking hate that part.

So many memories!

No idea if I want the PS3 version for Vita version.

Because it cost Square Enix money to make.

How many people are actually going double (triple) dip?

If they offered Digital codes they lose nothing on manufacturing and distribution. Instead they increase the value of their product. I really really don't think they will muster a significantly greater amount of profit from people buying both versions.

Probably because porting two huge JRPGs to Vita is no easy or cheap task. I mean, there's a reason why pretty much all crossbuy games are indies, excluding Sony's own games.

Okay I can understand wanting to promote sales of the Vita version. BUT I think having crossbuy bundled in on the vita version would make sense, while leaving the PS3 version dry.

Why no crossbuy?

Crossbuy is mostly only adopted by indie games, as well as a handful of Sony-exclusive titles as an extra incentive.

More to the point, though: these games are going to sell like crazy on both platforms. Crossbuy would effectively cut that huge amount in half. For Square, who have invested quite a bit of resources into making sure both versions look and run great, crossbuy would be a really bad move.

That, and it increases the odds we'll see Final Fantasy XII International get the same treatment.
