My other half is currently trying out the beta and was wondering if anyone could help? she's more use to the PS2 version and was wondering how on earth you change the text size from "unreadable" to "at least visible" ? Any ideas?

Any help greatly appreciated in the DC household!

turns out her tv supports 720p - colour me surprised. 4 year old tv, 720p support.

and it wasn't the inputs that were f*cked - it was just the TWO sony D-cables that both didn't work. :{

anyways, i've already said that she should go take ownership of the downstairs projector but she's back on the PS2 version playing level 75 whatever...

I hope they will change it for the European release, I only have 480i TV's here .

it's my other half who was playing it , but looks like the controls fit like a glove. She picked up the controller and away she went.

we actually ran the PS2 version as a refresher first... i've played the PC version before as well. Looks very very nice indeed, although didn't stay too long.

will ask her about the fishing.

I'm also curious about the fishing... I stopped playing FFXI before they changed it.

Which looks better, PC FFXI or 720p XBox360 FFXI?

I don't understand how anyone can play PS2 FFXI after having played PC FFXI. Well I mean if you got it hooked up to an HDTV with component (you would think better quality but makes it 10x worse). That game needs 480p stat.

from my hazy memory , the X360 version looked better than the PC version, but it's been a while.

well, my other halfs old pc wasn't quite up to FFXI - and i had the US PC version which has no japanese input support (or at least didn't at the time) - not that that's a problem for her, it would just be an issue talking to the rest of her linkshell.

Anyways, she has the PC to handle it now - but that's her WoW box. So if she wants to play WoW and FFXI at the same time (literally) then she has to have FFXI running from her TV/PS2 and WoW on the PC.

Hey DC... I was wondering if there were any actual improvements to the Xbox version over the PC one...

is it still stuck at 30FPS? Did they double the draw distance? Is there proper anti aliasing?

I didn't get an answer from that other FFXI thread, but can you(or anyone) tell me how safe is it to use windower?

It's safe to. I can't think of anyone getting suspended for its use unless you admit to it and are doing something wrong.

I think they announced it was the February 2006 issue. It's on sale January 17th according to the S-E press release.
