FFXII HD Limited Edition seen on Amazon

Has SE said anything about changes between IZJS and this (in terms of gameplay)? I'm wondering if they made any more adjustments to the zodiac license boards or anything.

The one thing I didn't like about IZJS was that you had to really plan out your party before starting the game. Each license board has multiple nodes locked off by espers, and only one character can activate each individual esper, so you need to make sure you've planned out your classes so that you can get all the nodes you want. That's not even going into making sure you have a (convenient) way to attack long-range enemies, or heal, or so on.

There's a panel in about 2 hours that will be focused on FFXII and new stuff they've added. So we'll likely hear about those changes then.

Awesome, thank you.

Honestly, even if they only add a way to reset your boards, it would make a massive difference and alleviate a lot of frustration for people.

I love playing Final Fantasy on handhelds and was heartbroken when I learned that XII HD was NOT coming to Vita. I would gladly take a Switch edition please :)

My sentiments exactly. It's a 80 something hour game, who has that much free time at home anyway? I started FF12 on PS2 in 2006 but it wasn't until late 2008 I finished the game. Long ass games like these are perfect for portables.

I don't think so. I think the chances are, they are just doing what they did with FFX HD, As in take the International Edition, improve the models and textures, with the original localization.

The biggest takeaway seems to be the audio improvements with the voice work and music.

The product description basically seems like IZJS to a tee (i.e 100 Floor Battle mode, Fast Forward option) which these things also existed in the original IZJS release too.

I would be welcome for new things though, so I suppose we know more information closer to release.

Agreed. Would also allow for some creativity and experimentation with certain weapons and builds without having to start again.

Just bear in mind that this is SE so there's a small chance that the new features could just be soundtrack toggles.

For whatever reason, the 20% prime discount isn't applying to my purchase. Wonder if it's too early and it hasn't been input into their system...
Yeah that happens sometimes. 99 percent of the time though when the Prime Discount becomes available Amazon will apply it to all previous preorders of the item so you should be fine. The other 1 percent have to call Amazon and ask them to apply it if the Prime Discount never went to their order after the Discount became active on the product info page.

To those who are still curious on the price, I recommend preordering it now and if the price does increase when the LE is officially announced, you will still get the lower price due to Amazon's policy.

I still remember picking up my PS2 steelbook from Gamestop when I was a teen! Have it somewhere in storage.

Going digital this time around.

yea, 20% off ain't working yet. I'll just have it preordered and see if it applies automatically. If not, just reorder later.

I wonder if they will just upgrade existing preorders to this version, since they are the same price.

I got an Amazon Move discount of 15% on top of my Prime discount when I pre-ordered the game and I don't want to lose that just because they waited to announce this version.

Bit pricey for what it is, but I'd pick this up if it's readily available at release.

Looking forward to playing this again.

Switch really is the new vita...

Not just me thinking this then. Every new game thread I've looked at the past few weeks has had Switch begging.

You guys are crazy if you're waiting to order until the discount shows up. If it doesn't get automatically applied to the order down the road just have a chat with CS and they'll do it for you.

I would probably buy a switch for this version. Playing FFX on handheld was great. I owned it on PS4 and Vita and vastly preferred playing on Vita.

It will be ported to PC in a year or so just like (almost) every other Final Fantasy game

I've just quit buying SE games on consoles until a couple years after release. They will either be ported to PC after a year or so or I can just get them cheaper if no PC version pops up.

Hopefully they eventually realize day and date is better than late ports.

I have as well! Have no problem waiting for the PC versions, skipped Type 0, XV and will now do so with XII cause everything's just going to be ported anyway.

I think there was a japanese stream where they said they had added some nice QoL things like some more chest fixes, a much faster fast forward function, magic casting time and some other things. Think PS Access might've played a PAX demo or something if you want to go look.

While that might be the case what won't get ported is this shiny steelbook case or a physical game unfortunately.

I wish I could blindly buy this day one but Square-Enix and Virtuos haven't proven very trustworthy with remasters.

Didn't think it was getting one since they waited so long to announce it. I have the steelbook for X/X-2 and it's beautiful, also i'm surprised they gave NA a steelbook since i had to order from overseas last time to get it. Maybe they're adapting.
