It was hearing those kind of success stories that made that month so depressing.... :lol Luckily my friend's cancelled LE/no-Saga disc takes the cake for suckiness. Misery loves company.
 
I feel like I should buy it just because it's a Final Fantasy, not because I actually want it. It's one of those staples in the gaming industry, and you just want to see how it turns out, bad or not.

well I started playing final fantasy 5 and it roxxors your boxxors or whatever, so I don't see what's your point here...
 
Matsuno does games that own your soul and he does games with mature, complex story lines full of political intrigue. The gameplay systems are complex and challenging.

And that's why Matsuno is the man.

Matsuno is a man of unbridled enthusiasm...and it was his intervention in this political intrigue that led to his downfall. I think he may have read one too many Billy Mumphrey stories.

matsuno is overrated

his games are good, but nothing mind blowing only game that comes close to being mind blowing is tactics ogre.
 
As long as the game is playable and the story is half-way tolerable I think it'll be decent

I heard the game was easy though, which is a plus, I don't plan on grinding and getting 100% everything

Still not excited about this game but I had to watch the trailer just to see the "From the makers of Final Fantasy" :lol, that was great!

also something that made me chuckle was the "It's been years in the making" Indeed it has.

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENS IN FFXII. I have no played it, I have not watched any movies, I played the demo, and I have the OST. That's it.

I'm actually working my way through it on my PSP right now, I'm starting season 4 right now

The sad thing is that spoiler almost works, but not quite.

I'm teasing of course :-P


My assessment of FFXII:

For a game that took forever to come out it sure feels unpolished/unfinished in a lot of ways. There's just so many little things that make you go "they spent all this time making this game and didn't manage to make that work right?".

I also found that every time I got wiped out by one of the mobs from the mob hunts that I just didn't want to pick the game back up for awhile. Mostly because I hated progressing without clearing all the ones available and I hated how long it takes to go up levels. In a way it feels like they borrowed a lot of MMORPG style tedium for this game.
