FIFA 09 (360) Worldwide Champions League Sign-Up Thread

Just got the game today and definately up for this

Kind of funny that we have almost 50/50 EU/NA. Also renamed the conferences according to relative toughness of actors.
 
Ah, i didnt see this thread before. Count me in i guess, just need time to find a team that i am fine with, since most of the "good" teams are taken already :D

I'll post again with the info once i figure it out. Might pick my club of heart, even though they arent spectacular :lol

Hey, that's what several of us have done already. Although, I would venture to say that Columbus is spectacular this season.:D

that is the silver account i made to be the gaf fif "clan" basically you friend it and then you can see all the friends in it and those are all gaf fifa players.

Yep, you basically should never have to play a random EVER AGAIN if you don't want to. I would have loved such a list when Euro was out and there were, like, three gaffers playing it regularly.

Just a heads-up that we are going to schedule one exhibition game for everyone and will post the matchups next Thursday, and the matchups will have to be played and stats entered on LeagueDaddy (woodchuck is prepping a tutorial for this; it's really easy) by Friday, October 24th at midnight EDT.

This gives you at least seven full days to play one game (whereas in the regular league we'll be doing two games or so a week). This will also let us make the schedule and start the regular games late Saturday the 25th. It will also let us boot out any flakes before we spend time putting the schedules together, so if you flake out on you exhibition game we'll just boot you which will save us a lot of headaches later (though hopefully no one will be booted).

I'm in the same boat. Would love to join but not sure I'd be able to make all the games. I've send a friend request to the FIFA 09 account though.

Went to Gamestop last night and preordered mine so I'll have it Wednesday, I'll probably leave work early to practice.
 
i think we're at 29. some division might be a little uneven, but i'm not going to worry about that until we're finalized with the teams.

NO) and you could also help us with getting some of the pre-season stuff together (fixing the rosters woodchuck has created, taking screenshots for the stat-entry tutorial, etc.) as well as getting to boss around the rest of the EUers a la Hitler, except without most of the bad stuff.

Wouldn't be a huge commitment or anything, just a big help to us to have a point person in Sonyland. Anyone interested please post here and PM me your AIM.

If I was sure I could fully commit to it, I'd do it, but I'm already spread quite thin as it is. If you don't expect the world from me, and if there's nobody else willing to do it, I guess I can try to fit it in my schedule.

It's really not that much work. One of the biggest duties would just to make sure your fellow europeans get their games on time because when Astrolad and I are online may be when you guys are sleeping.
 
It's cool though if you have enough time for the league but maybe not enough to co-commish. There must be some Euro out of you 16 that can be a co-commish; otherwise I will go bubonic plague on all of your asses.

EDIT: For others considering it though, it's really not much of a time commitment of any sort at all. Woodchuck and I are still doing 100% of the gruntwork.

There are definitely many of them here, but I think some others wanted to stick with their teams, who were taken, which is understandable.

But come on MILLWALL IS AWESOME.

Other mitigating factor for anyone else considering joining is that there are still many solid teams left, and also we've grouped the divisions by quality of team.

psn, man I just dont get it. Although I admit the tricks are easier to do with the dualshock.

Also some people just don't care about online play (PES Player Syndrome), which is absolutely insane to me since football game vs. AI has been an absolute joke for at least four years running but dsfdf I suppose (there's also local multiplayer of course). I prefer the 360 for FIFA though since I use analogs. For PES, I would never even dream of 360 (d-pad for life for PES).

Exypher, yes. But you can go to LD and sign up and also post in the official thread and I'll assign you your team and then you can hop right in if/when a spot opens up (will PM you).
 
There will be severe criticism for the loser on the home page. And a precipitous drop in Power Ranking. Just try not to think about the stakes.
 
what happens if people use assisted controls while others use semi/manual?

I not gonna be too happy getting beat by someone who uses assisted controls for everything..

ffviii was just telling me that you can set specific controls. i'm thinking something along the lines of semi shot semi pass semi cross.

i'm not 100% on through passes since those are only manual or auto, but probably auto since manual just has too much of a learning curve for 98% of people.

someone with the game feel free to tell me if this is wrong in any way re game settings.

if someone could actually take a pic of the friendly custom game setup screen that would be helpful.
 
As long as we don't go all manual or all auto. Shooting is just completely fucked up on manual while passes are too accurate on auto. There has to be a good compromise.

I would rather passing on semi if possible but if not then assisted it will have to be as manual is tough. shooting and crossing I hope on semi though.

Assisted shooting is too easy..
