FIFA 15 Demo - Did EA Actually Get it Right?

I wasn't talking about the pc version really.

I didn't really follow the FIFA 15 news tbh, I played 14 on ps4 and this looks so similar.

I think the next gen should offer more from a graphical point of view on the EAsports games. In my opinion the lighting is terrible, makes the game very very unnatural and bland. Looks like they are playing indoors with artificial white light or something like that :| Maybe i am crazy.

FIFA 14 on PC is very similar to FIFA 14 on PS4. Main graphics differences are in close ups (no gameplay) where console versions change framerate (to 30 fps), draw grass and improve lighting and models. While you're playing, graphics are pretty identical.

I played so many bayern vs madrid games and im tired of people lobbing over my defense and getting the ball thanks to ronaldos and bales speed.

but i find that my AI team mates never make the runs for it. fucking never.

it only worked reasonably well for me on manual with a very light tap - and not enough to allow the attacker to escape the defender.

i'm just surprised that's all because experiences can be that different. i might have a look for some footage of it on youtube, because i'm genuinely interested in finding out wtf i'm missing in my game. this game clearly isn't about being fair.

otherwise it wouldn't lie about me being offside.

you see, this sounds good. responsive as in when you press a button they actually react in a timely fashion? what did you think of 14?

Yep. I played 4 games and it all felt very fluid. No players stumbling around in janky canned animations when your trying to pass the ball etc.

I played 14 a shit ton so I must have liked it deep down, but it frustrated the life out of me every game. Very excited for 15 now.

Some of these face states when you score...

excellent. exactly how i feel. my mates give me such a hard time for complaining and then completing a season in a couple of days....

they can't seem to fathom that you can like and hate something at the same time. exactly the reason why i don't understand the whole PES/fifa argument. they've both proven themselves to be massively inept in a wide variety of areas.

good to hear at least some progress is being made. no doubt after playing this one shit loads you'll find other frustrating things, but it sounds like a good start.

Loving the demo so far on Xbox One. The gameplay changes feel great and a little more realistic than last year.

Also, i've been checking out what's been going on with the PC demo and modding to see what they'll be able to do with the game. Looks like things like textures are similar, just higher res. Stadiums can be exported using existing tools, etc. Can't wait to see where they go from here.

Hopefully the new Ignite engine supports above 60fps from the start. FIFA 13 (the last one I bought on pc) looked mindblowing at 100 fps, soooooo buttery smooth, almost like as if you were at the stadium. My buddy argued with me because I wanted to play on the 27" 120hz monitor instead of changing the PC input to the much bigger TV in the same room, until he saw it in motion and was like "daaaaaaaaaamn! :O".

Well it runs at over 200 FPS at 1440p on a 2GB GTX 770.

I wonder if anyone will figure out how to get the 3D grass during regular gameplay on PC :o I have to stay the replays look stunning on that department.

Well that was weird: When I change the game speed from normal to slow it plays very similar to FIFA14. Is that intentional?

The really fast movement speed is giving me problems right now due to the slower (even in FUT) speed of FIFA 14. Only did 3 games so far, so not going to judge any details so far.

Fifa 15 seems to be a decent upgrade over fifa 14 but right now I'm furious at fifa 14, it's not giving me my damn damn coins!!

Anyone managed to get this going decently at 120hz or 144hz? stutters like shit and tearing everywhere the minute you untick 'stay at 60hz' I find..

Using 780m here

Can play at 4k/60 fps with little to no drops it's amazing. Except when the game zooms in then I drop to 20's even at 1080p/low settings. I'm downloading the game again to make sure this is not a download issue. If it's not, I'm very happy with the performance

Bit of a joke the game runs as well as it does yet they can't do replays above 30fps.

Keepers aren't very good. Rounded the keeper 4 times now, and scored with Henderson from a ridiculous angle. Powered it into the roof of the net.

edit: this might just be Joe Hart

Keepers should be improved. Besides that, it's a fantastic Fifa game. Oh, what the hell is with those jaggies around players? It reminds me of GT5:

Look at hands. I hope they fix this.

Replays at half time and end of the game don't seem to be at 30 fps to me, only ingame, it's weird.

Yeah that shit looks terrible, I don't have much faith in them fixing it though, it did the same thing with the goal nets on fifa 14 on pc. It's just bad field of view I think? Reminds me of Gran Turismo 4 lol

hmm, I actually think the grass looks really weird in the close ups.

Hmm does it always appear as weird to you? Now that I played around with manual replays I did see a few camera angles that made the grass look odd but most of the time it seems fine to me. Might be just a personal perception thing.

Well from my observation having MSI Afterburner monitoring the FPS (it's a DX11 game so sadly no GeDoSaTo :( ) even bringing up the pause menu or a in-game replay drops the game to 30fps. The actual controlled gameplay stays at 60fps for me, everything else does not.

I tried this but the game still crashes right after it starts to load. wtf EA?? I want to compare this to the bone version

Do you have Windows Media Player installed?

This is my first FIFA and I'm really enjoying the demo so far. I'm new to the sport (thanks to the recent WC) and looking forward to learning more about the leagues and teams.

When you shoot and it kicks up grass and dirt it looks terrible

Game is pretty good though. Liking it so far, still can't defend at all.

Played the Xbone verison. Holy crap. flawless. I really thought 14 was a step in the right direction but 15 is just amazing.

Haven't tried it yet, but I'll bet you anything the game still suffers from rubberband AI.

- Game is deadlocked for 60 / 70 / 80 minutes. I score one, AI scores.

— Control the game throughout, get 15 / 20 shots in, GK saves some, while physics take care of the rest. AI: one shot, one goal.

I have been playing fifa14 for a while now I got 1400-400-400 record on ultimate team and around 60-10-10 on normal online seasons, when I played 3 games on this demo won all of them, sure I was not as good as I am on Fifa 14 but the ball is alot harder to get a hold of, but the subject AI rubberbanding doesn't exist if you are not bad, on my 3 games I won with the following scores: 1-0, 2-0, and my last game 3-0, as you can see, I didn't concede any goals.

PC peeps with 30 FPS replays: try turning off the 60 fps lock in the options if you have it turned on. Fixed it for me.

no gold here,so i have to wait one week :(

Hmm. I didn't even remember that you needed gold for demo downloads the first week. Is that still a thing on Xbox One? Because I don't have gold, haven't had for a year, but this morning I just downloaded the FIFA 15 demo without issues.

Like when there's a little cinematic before a corner or a penalty the individual strands of grass look too big, something just looks off and makes it look weird. For replays of goals it looks ok though.

After playing the demo I'm pretty optimistic. Absolutely fucking hate fifa14, and you can almost think fifa15 is the same when you first play it. But it's not. Need to play more but so far I'm liking it. Runs fantastic as well on a very modest quad core apu (3,2 ghz) and a hd7770. Runs well over 100 fps (locked to 60 now) at 1080p. So good news for people on the lower end side.
