Fifa09 Demo is up (PS360)

Everyone should change the settings Shooting passintg lob etc... to really play the game.

Honestly makes a HUGE difference. A lot of the bad impressions are because folls dont do this.

Yeah, on fifa08, i had to change settings to be less assisted. Its almost a whole different game.

yeah you're right, also the auto switching needs to be adjusted but I dont know if you can do all that in the demos.

You should be able to, last yr it was possible. You just had to redo it every time you launched the demo which was annoying.

Unfortunately, less content. The gameplay is better, though, which makes it even sadder that it's semi-crippled feature-wise, at least compared to UEFA.

I think he meant it didnt have that arena mode where you can practice the moves and shooting, which sucked horribly since they changed the timing on certain tricks compared to FIFA 08.
 
Ok, yeah, it's pretty fucking good with traditional controls. They definitely increased the overall responsiveness of the players and the animations and presentation are absolutely top notch. If only the ball physics weren't feeling so damn floaty sometimes (especially high balls and slow/flat shots). Ball physics during dribbling, passing and fast shots are fine.


Will try the new controls taken from PES Wii next, but it's a buy so far.
 
Played the demo, it's absolutely amazing that Fifa has come this far. See, they knew they were turning shit and changed things up, PES knew they were awesome, and unfortunately took a long nap. Complacency is a poison in this industry.

Be a Pro season only tracks one player. The best part of CYC was the multiplayer, when you could compare your scores with your friends. This time around the only multiplayer in BaP is in individual games. I know I was disappointed, but if it isn't a big deal for you, I understand that as well. As a game of football, it's better. I just wish CYC was in there. Maybe even as a Captain Your Club mode?

Edit: What challenge mode? I can't seem to find that in the game.

Be a Pro is awesome.

But EA is milking it, only allows for 4 seasons, as if there was a technical limitation for that, give me a break.

They do it so that next year they can say 8 years, and call it an improvement.

no it wasn't a rhetorical question. i was just wondering if we could do e.g. a proper gaf premiership and what the stat tracking and whatnot was like.

All Adidas teams, Adidas nets in the arena, Adidas ball. Basically an advert for Adidas. :lol

My most played mode last year. PES 2008 for vs matches, UEFA for CYC co-op. :(

Ah, my bad. Since it's GAF, it's easiest to assume people are being snarky. No, sorry, haven't looked into it yet. I'll try to do that over the weekend, since I'm heading to bed now and will be busy tomorrow.

Yeah, it's been replaced with Be a Pro. Single player-oriented, with the option to include other players into each match on occasion. Performance tracking for the main player only. :(

Played it for an hour and was impressed..

However I then went back to PeS 2008 and realised its still much the better game of football.

Oh, i thought you could go co-op in this mode as well, a shame, i played cyc alot.
Challenge mode was in last fifa i assumed it would be in this one, game asks you to do different objectives and it was kinda similar to uefa scenarios.

That's so fucking stupid. Easily the best part of UEFA for me. They probably cut it to introduce it with much fanfare for FIFA 2010. *sigh*
 
Game is pretty awesome. Specially with the new physics system. It seem more responsive but a bit too fast. I think i will get used to it. So far it seems full of win.

Haha whatever man, PES08 was crap, especially for a PES game. Compared to Fifa09 it's even worse.

Couldn't find challenge mode anywhere in the menu. I love the game of football FIFA 09 offers, which makes the lack of game modes offered in UEFA even more excruciating.
