Fight Night Champion 'Story' Trailer

Wow.... That surprised me. I really want to play it now. For some reason I had it in my head that the story would be Prizefighter bad. That doesn't look to be the case.

Not bad. Tho the VA and the visuals contrast each other pretty hard making it look uncanny as shit

I'm glad they are keeping this series going, loved the previous game, they just gotta make it more realistic in every iteration!

Actually looks like it may be a solid story. Certainly looks no worse than most of the popcorn, B-movies that come out of Hollywood. Interesting take for a sports game.

This 'Story Mode', where you have a brother, a fucked up promoter, and people are getting shot and arrested, is a weak attempt to appeal to people who aren't boxing fans. It's overly dramatic and unrealistic. Keep that shit in WWE.

Yes, some boxers get arrested, split from their promoters, call out opponents, etc... But this is ridiculous. They should have gone a different route if they wanted to involve 'boxing politics'. It should have just been text in the game, where you can change your manager or promoter to get better fights, join up with a new trainer, etc... I think some of that stuff is in the game anyway.

Sorry for the bump, but I just saw this for the first time. I got to say I'm impressed. A good story mode might bring Fight Night back. I haven't been excited for these games since FN3, but I'm pumped for this one.

So the same "My player" mode that is in every sports game is always lacking and shallow, great.

I just hope this isn't a sign of where their priorities are. :/

I actually like boxing, so I don't need as much of this sports-unrelated fluff (cutscenes, character exposition etc). Just make it a great simulation of the sport with a classic career mode and I'm there.

So, based on where the sport is at right now, about 99% of the world's population then? :lol (this was hyperbole for comedic effect, btw)

You are right though. I don't like boxing. I find it boring. I don't get the 'sweet science'. I much prefer the diversity of fighting style seen in MMA these days, where yous see grapplers have to strategize and contend with strikers (and vice versa), ground game vs. standing game, submissions and knockouts, etc.

And yes, I'm a WWE fan too.

I have to ask though. Do you think that Rocky is a bad movie? Raging Bull? Cinderella Man? The Fighter?

Cause all these movies are about boxing, but they make people CARE about the action in the ring by making them care about the people fighting.

I may work for EA, but I have nothing to do with this game and have never liked any of the Fight Night games. I'm interested in this.
