Fighting Games Weekly | April 29 - May 5 | Gods Among Loser's Bracket

Okay after watching this video, Kusoru has definitely improved. Wow at all this tech. Raw tag into Frank combos, RR TAC trick, stupid log trap mixups (wow at the incoming side switch at around 10:55), and more.

The ending of this set is unbelievable.

The whole player/coach thing is pretty cool when taken as seriously as it is by Laugh and Infiltration. Would love to see more duos like that instead of players just looking to the crowd for a sliver of hope or advice haha.

Fchamp with Shady assist
CJ with Fchamp assist

FChamp with ShadyK is legit if FChamp actually listened to him. He has been begging Champ to stop playing Phoenix in certain match ups... even had a full on intervention for him at FGTV.

Whaaaa, French is a gorgeous language. Though it's the only one I ever learned in school, so maybe I'm abit biased.

But yeah, as Kikujiro above said, French women....*sigh*

i learned it in school too, although i also learned spanish. and i lived in paris and stuff. i just find the french r really unattractive and i don't like the nasally consonants. i'm not claiming english is the prettiest language either, but i do think french is worse heh. the prettiness of a language isn't a big deal obviously. just thought it would be funny to bring up.

as for the girls, man, meeting french girls was so difficult. most french guys are reasonable but some of them do seriously the grossest, worst things to women in public. i saw guys follow girls literally close enough for the girls to feel their breath, pester and pester girls in trying to talk to them, even some handsiness. that pepe le pew cartoon has a semblance of truth in it. so french girls learn to entirely ignore guys they don't know. you have to be in some particular situation to really meet a french girl, like have a mutual friend, be in school or work or some other activity together, be in only certain bars in certain places, etc. also france is really messed up when it comes to race relations, worse even than the us in some ways.

but all that said i was really really sad when i left lol

ECT announced some pot bonuses.

$2,000 for UMvC3
$2,000 for AE
$1,000 for the game that has the most entrants (other than UMvC3 and AE)

As promised, here are some off-stream NCR matches. Both of these were to qualify for top 8:

Alex Valle vs Mike Ross: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wPM4Jw33Vw

Wolfkrone vs Kelvin: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Me4FZc05CqE

Probably upload 2-3 matches per day for the next week or so. Have a bunch of AE stuff too.

Also those Louffy vs Kindevu grand finals someone posted earlier were pretty sick. Louffy was on point with antiairing every time Kindevu would try to get away with a jump that was non EXTKCS with cammy. and when he picked yun Kindevu rarely if ever option selected roses backdash.

I like how this imitates wrestling/boxing/MMA.

I'm one of the best coaches. Second to Laugh of course. But I think I'm a very good coach. People should ask me to be in their corner lol.

That set was awesome, I've probably seen him play before but still surprised V.X is a pad player.

I was confused his counter pick. I don't think Yun counters Rose that well, less than Cammy does IMO. He has a solid Seth and that's who I thought he was going to pick, but he didn't of course. But man, Louffy gives every Japanese player problems. It's weird how match up experience is still a problem for these guys after all these years. It seems like the only one to figure him out is Tokido.

Sorry I missed this earlier, but I can't really help you much. I can't even pay for it directly myself, but I have a friend in Japan who helps me with that.

What's the problem? I went through the process just to see how difficult it was and it doesn't seem hard. I just didn't enter my debit card numbers in at the end because Kadey and I were planning to split it with her purchasing the pass. Is there more to it?

Hasn't seemed to help Justin since 2010. To James did mention Justin seems really stubborn about change. Come to think of it, wasn't Justin one of the players that was supposed to switch to top tier?
JWong has "gotten serious" at least 3 times since Ultimate came out.

Damn, lol. Never came across that, but I can imagine since it's similar in Italy. When I went to Rome there were actually warnings on tourist leaflets about groping and stuff. Crazy.

Some Japanese players go off intelligence and reads rather than matchup knowledge, which doesn't work well against someone like Luffy, who is one of the best in terms of adapting in a 2/3 or 3/5 set. That's my half-baked theory anyway, lol.

He has one of the best teams in the game

Joe is beyond underrated in this game, definitely an upper tier character.

Neat article on PA Report. I don't know why fighting game stuff seems to suddenly be getting more mainstream gaming press coverage but it's cool. I just hope people will stop saying "hey the FGC did something good but you won't see it on Kotaku/wherever right guys?" because it makes me cringe every time people say that shit.

I don't really like the coaching stuff going on though. I mean maybe if fighting games were more like SC2 where if you're playing in a big tournament, you're probably a part of some organization that has coaches and stuff, but in the FGC where tournaments are more open, I feel like it's an unfair advantage.

It's not unfair if it's not disallowed in the rules and everyone can take advantage of it

I don't concider it ufair if both players are allowed to have a coach.

I think coaching is fine, but not during a match. Once you step up it should be you against the other player and your ability to adapt. Perhaps only during a bracket reset should you be able to stop and talk things over for a few minutes.
