like i said, i enjoyed all the pseudo-drama up until the last 15 minutes. Even though jamesMK killed the animosity he should have stepped in earlier.
According to that, until I can get a DC version, this may be at least tolerable. Except for the spontaneous button remapping bit. Thanks.
It's also a lot of exaggeration and flat out lies too, like for example with the whole Evo donation drive blowup and all that. Starting mad drama for no reason. I can't get behind that.
I'm just torn between the show, I find it entertaining to watch for sure, until they start with the tall tales to get more viewers.
However when JamesMK and co interviewed the MK actors that was tight as fuck

the other problem is that from what I saw during the valle interview is that there is no respect to those talking. Everybody tries to talk over the other and shit like that. What's the point of having 12 ppl on the show all at the same time.

Are you talking about the CCC2 version? Because that has missing frames and odd hitbox interaction that would mess up any move priority knowledge that you could use eventually on the DC version. Theres some weird sound things going on.
Honestly, HDR classic mode is your best bet for the time being.
CCC2 reminds me of going from arcade CE to SNES SF Turbo.

It was not just James and OBS that went in on donation drive. You also had people like Bum and the house of crack people saying the same thing. Of course it was stupid but a lot of these guys hold very little trust when it comes to big money and the FGC.
I think OBS goes too ham at times for viewers...but like you always say it's all about that CPM. But, even you will admit they do expose some truths.
It comes down to communities that are not Capcom feeling like they have been attacked / miss treated for long enough and eventually shit goes ham like what we seen with SRK / UFGT / Keits / NRS / MK / OBS / AGE / TO's / etc.

Yeah, wow. Maybe you don't agree with how Keits ran UFGT, but having a bunch of dudes go in on the guy, using homophobic/transphobic slurs is not the way to go. How about having a little common sense and realize that Injustice is a late addition to the tournament, and Keits wasn't willing to reschedule popular events for Injustice?
How about running a show without a fucking victim complex, accusing people of tax fraud. Not shitting on someone's game, because a minority of players don't give a fuck about it.

Yeah, it's kind of cool when JamesMK does actual content but these shows are basically the equivalent of like Fox news and Hannity or something. Just gross amounts of stupid that doesn't really help anything.

When I was on the show it started off with me, James, and DarkNatas...then shortly thereafter there were 12 people on. Why? What did that accomplish? What's the point? OH WE'RE GIVING EVERYBODY A VOICE...yeah, and now nobody can get a word in because there are 12 fucking people on the call. I waited like an hour to try to get a point across while Triforce and Fanatiq were flirting with some check from some other group calling itself Empire somethingorother. Shit was OD dumb.
Yeah, people thinking that (about the donation drive) is a big problem with the FGC as a whole. I can't tell people how to think, ya know? It just irritates me because we actually raised funds (about 2k to blow up ST) and then people are crying fraud (but didnt lift a finger to raise any money)
OBS doesnt do it for the CPM, they do it for the notoriety. JamesMK and Natas have fulltime jobs and dont need to grind for the CPM. With their current total viewership on Twitch/YT thru OBS they really wouldnt be making that much anyway.
I do agree with them and I feel games that are not Capcom 100% of the time get the short end of the stick. But I obviously wouldn't go their route.
It sucks cause I really like James/Natas and theyre chill ass people 99% of the time but when James goes on stream hes almost like a different person sometimes.
But at the end of the day if they cant overrule the ban theyll probably end up on YT Live or whatever

The Japanese Only Release of Anniversary. It does not come with 3rd Strike and has a near perfect port of ST.
I really like the changes they made to AH3 lovemax. I really really hated AH3 change to free homing, allowing you to get in for free a lot of the time. They made a nice compromise with Lovemax, where you can get punished for recklessly doing 5D which is actually really awesome, cause people have to think now.
And they finally buffed Kamui for once, after...at least 4-5 versions of the game. She's been consistenly nerfed every version of the game since AH Vanilla. They finally gave her some decent stuff now.
Of course it's Japan and Examu, which means its niche and I wont get to play it until a year from now unless I go to Japan, so I'm not that excited. But still, as someone that used to play the series hardcore it looks really good.
Saying that they expose some truths is giving them too much credit. To continually bash UFGT, Divekick and Tournament organizers without actually having any first hand engagement with any of these subjects is straight up irresponsible. They're straight up lying, dude.
I'll agree with your earlier point that there is seediness in any scene, but they're often overblown. A majority of people in any scene is not going to be exposed to "prohoes" and as a result not going to know what the hell you're talking about.
Go to any tournament and you'll see that the reality that OBS depicts is actually just fiction.

What's with the notion that Capcom players don't like being challenged by the NRS scene? MK9 and Injustice have been well received in weeklies like Wednesday Night Fights. Some dudes never stop playing the victim card.

Look, none of these guys should be given this level of attention, but they also don't deserve this level of scrutiny. I've been around and hung out with most of these people at different events. Fanatiq is a mostly relaxed guy that loves money matches and side bets. Filipino Champ has a big mouth but really loves frame data. Alex Valle talks shit all day but he'll sit down and play casuals with you. I've won and lost money betting with every group of fighting game players from Marvel to Virtua Fighter to Smash Bros and then went out and had dinner with them.
These people aren't celebrities. They don't deserve to be treated like celebrities. They're just people. People that really like playing fighting games. It's fine to look up to or even idolize players for their skill, but they're still just people. Arturo helped me learn how to block cross-ups when I was starting out. Viscant's given me advice with player match ups. Half the knowledge I have of how fighting games work comes from random people I sat down next to that I've never met that just love talking about games with anyone that wants to listen.

Maybe? I'm not really hopeful. Arcana series has a looong history of fucking shit up/unfortunate stuff happening. Lets recap:
AH1: AH Vanilla comes out, is #1 in arcades for a while in Japan, massively popular at the time. But Kira/Kamui dominated that version. It gets added to SBO.
Mid SBO, Arcana Heart FULL! upgrade gets announced. Game gets changed to AHFull in the middle of qualifiers. Tougeki reps say they will honor past winners on Vanilla but going forward it's going to be AHF, forcing people to upgrade. The problem was that it was nothing more than balance fixes and palette changes that Examu was charging $1500-1600 for a upgrade. People revolted and there was a shitstorm. It dropped to $800 for the upgrade, but damage was already done.
Went there for SBO, after SBO game kind of died off. Console port came out a few months after that, the console port for AHF was decent though.
AH2 series: AH2.0 comes out on the new ex-board (basically consolized PC in a arcade board.) Is unreliable as fuck, and costs a lot (something like 3k, with a ram card that you need as well.) Spooky actually bought AH2.0 and his ex board broke...within 1 hour of him using it. Lol. Had to send it back to examu, however it took a month. In the meantime AH2.1 comes out with balance changes but Examu sends him a free upgrade. However this took a month and a half. Played it for a few months, went to Japan a few months later, and it was all good..until after SBO Examu announced AH 2.5 (Sugoi) which was by far one of the most unbalanced versions of Arcana Heart to date. All sorts of players dropping their mains for Akane left and right. And of course the upgrade cost something like $1500 so we were kind of done supporting the series at that time haha. They upgraded it to 2.6 which made things better (and is one of the most balanced versions of Arcana to date,) but by that time we didn't give a shit anymore.
PS2 port comes out later on and it is indeed atrocious. One of the worst ports ever, and it's based off broken 2.5. With massive lag in game to boot on PS2. Kills the scene.
AH3 series: Comes out in Japan, exclusive to JP For a year or something like that. Comes to console. We import it for 90-100 bucks. No chance of it getting added to Evo that year for reasons I can't remember. Wiz utters the infamous "time to move on" quote that the anime community blew him up for in the past. Comes out in the US on PSN digital for $30 which was a great deal...except for PSN getting hacked which fucked any chance of the game getting sales.
Year goes by, niche. Now we're at love max.
Hope you enjoyed the history lesson, and that's pretty much why I have zero faith in the series even though I like the gameplay heh
