Fighting Games Weekly | Nov 25 - Dec 1 | Nobody likes Zeroes except VxG

Man I thought they gave it to the most active users. I have hardly ever seen Floe stream or play D3.

lol no. Like Immortal said it's all about hookups, but there is some seemingly random shit to it. I've seen a few people on other boards saying that they got in, and they have less than 100 hours of playtime total and haven't touched the game in 8+ months. I get why they would give it to streamers since obviously it's generating a lot of buzz that way.

Good matches towards the end.

On the topic of Ken's sweep, just give it a few more frames of recovery. That way it can't just be spammed in the neutral. The start up improvement really opens up Ken's game and completes him as a rushdown Shoto.

Lol oh god. I just realized that, although Cammy and Fei are getting nerfed (I wish someone there played Fei), Chun, Vega, and Balrog are getting buffed. Fake fireball please! :(

Regarding what they were saying on stream about Ken's sweep, it only got 1 less frame of startup. Does that really change that much in footsies? I don't think it got less punishable, did it?

Stand jab into sweep is possible now. This is huge for Ken.

It's nonpunishable now

It's not like Ken spamming sweep is going to be viable. Chris made good use of it with proper spacing in that particular match-up, especially in light of the SPD range nerf.

You also have to consider the walk speed buff, he can just move back and forth clock you with his sweep then go for a jump in pressure the into jab pressure/confirm back into sweep. It's a pretty big change on him.

Ken's sweep is better than Gouken's sweep in footsies because of the aforementioned walk speed difference. Gouken's sweep would be godlike if it was attached to a character with a faster walk speed.

Yeah, I definitely agree. I'm not saying that Ken's footsies are suddenly godlike or that his sweep is now godlike because it has 1 less frame of startup. I'm just wondering if they're exaggerating the difference in AE2012 and Ultra Ken's sweep.

Yeah, that makes sense. To be honest, I thought people were making a big deal out of Ken's sweep because of the new version even though it hasn't really changed, but move speed changes a lot I guess.

Yeah, the movespeed is really what makes his sweep good for footsies now.

RE: KI netcode. How common are these de-syncs? It'd be really funny/sad if the perceived lack of lag was caused by de-syncing this entire time.

I am sure this has been posted, but I feel we all should take a moment to watch this beautiful display of next level Ryu tech together.

Its hard to gauge how problematic it is. You can't even tell unless everyone is comparing all of their matches to everyone. The reaction is a bit stronger because people hate KI, but the legitimacy of the problem is undermined by some clearly buggy replay functionality.

It could be a non-issue, or it can be a massive one that makes close to no sense.

Armshouse just uploaded a match from DreamHack featuring the other best Ryu in the tournament. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfEVcZ3anG0

I heard about the legend of Gandhi, but I didn't get to watch him live in person yesterday. Mother of god, he's just as magnificent as everybody described him to be.

Seriously though, this is the 2nd hardest that I've laughed in my life over watching a SF4 match. 2nd only to my cousin who once went to a tournament with me and nearly won a match. I don't think Gandhi can match his legendary point blank double EX Tiger knees which passed through his opponent twice lol.

My man Gandhi is in a whole other echeclon. y'all think he's ass, but he taught Jyobin everything he knows. How do you fight someone who seems like they have no idea what they're doing? His style is wild and unpredictable in that it's very predictable. The ultimate mindfuck. That fsp kept trying links that he couldn't perform. Gandhi though? Links, not even once. He didn't even throw till the final set, fsp aint know that gandhi had those!

This KI bug is apparently super rare, looking around the net. Some say it happens like once out of a hundred matches

At the moment, Gouken's walk speed is better than Ken's. Someone said the improved walk speed isn't very noticeable in the new build so I'm guessing it's still slower than Gouken's, possibly on par.

The range and ability to combo from jabs is the big thing here.

DP every wake-up EXCEPT the fifth one that you were waiting for? David Sirlin said that was the fifth layer of yomi, my nigga. People came up here expecting dudes to understand footsies and frame data and all that high-tech shit, they don't know what to do about dat XBL flowchart. He was so unlucky that Daigo The Beast absorbed his Ryu randomness life force and got too powerful for anyone to take down.

Even if it happens all the time, 1 player will think he won and the other one will think the opponent ragequit. You won't find people making a fuzz about it just by looking around. You basically have to ask (Look at footage from) an opponent that "rage quits" what he saw on his end to test this.

There is a pretty noticeable difference between someone leaving a match in the middle of it, and the type of disconnect that is happening with this desync issue. Quitters/leavers don't cause the extended hang up you see with it.
