the main forest/navi theme is still beautiful. Not his best score, but it's pure Horner in the best sense,

Loved his Last of the Mohicans theme.
Is there confirmation that Horner was the pilot?

Oh. Huh. That's kind of an odd mistake to make. No, it wasn't him. It was Trevor Jones and Randy Edelman.
Ah crap, I thought he did that movie too. Still, he has made iconic music across the board. RIP

Over the years I like Braveheart less and less, but the score that he did still remains brilliant.
Strangely, many links on a Google search credit Horner for it, which is odd. But it definitely wasn't him.
There's a chance he was the original composer before Mann fired him. Might have read that somewhere a long time ago.
True dat.
Still baffles me that JC cut the best part of that piece at 6:53-7:20. It literally cuts right before that, always irked me.
I know The Amazing Spider-Man isn't highly regarded around here, but that soundtrack was top notch.
I can't find a single mention of that anywhere. If true, I am curious to know more.
