Final Club Nintendo Rewards Catalog out

That's what I had heard. Hmmm, I mean I could maybe wait and get like 80 more coins, so maybe I could get Sticker Star, but I've heard even worse things about that game.

Between the two, I would get NSMB 2

Its not the best Mario game, but its also not the worst. If you liked other NSMB games, you will enjoy this one

But, if you liked any other Paper Mario game, you will probably hate Sticker Star

I'm guessing confirmation emails are slow right now too? Got the Zelda pouch in finally, still waiting on the confirmation.

But yeah, going to wait till it's less busted from getting hammered to do any more, since I need to put in more codes to have enough for the AC cards. Also thinking I'm going to skip the messenger bag since I'm not loving the look of it and I already have both the initial one and the Pikmin one off of Club Nintendo, not to mention some other neat ones from elsewhere like a Ranma one I got at a con, and I honestly don't use them very often at all...

So far, of the rewards, I already have:

  • Grill-Off with Ultra Hand! (kinda bad)
  • Ice Climber (but only on my Wii, not on my Wii U though)
  • Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (as part of Super Mario Bros. Deluxe for the GBC)
  • Super Mario Bros. 3 (the GBA version)
  • Super Mario Bros. (as with The Lost Levels)
  • Kid Icarus (as with Ice Climber)
  • Mario Bros. (came as the battle mode in the various Super Mario Advance games I have)
  • Super Mario World (as with SMB3)
  • Earthbound (still playing it)
  • Zelda: ALttP (on GBA)
  • Super Mario 64 (the DS version)
  • Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (the original Gameboy version... it was my first video game!)
  • Baseball (the original Gameboy version... might have gotten rid of it though, as it was kind of bad... Edit: Nope, just checked, I still have it.)
  • Kid Icarus: OM&M (still playing it)
  • Looksley's Line Up (via DSiWare on my DSi)
  • Link's Awakening DX (the original GBC version)
  • The original Zelda (as with Ice Climber and the original Kid Icarus)
  • Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again! (as with Looksley's Line Up)
  • Dillon's Rolling Western (still playing it)
  • Donkey Kong Country Returns (the disc-based Wii version... although I never finished it, so maybe the easy mode in the 3DS version could be helpful...)

I'll add up my coins after I do a few more surveys after the site has settled down, but it looks like I'll only have enough coins for 1 or 2 games... I'm considering:
  • Golden Sun
  • The Wonderful 101 (maybe after I give the demo another try to see if I "get" it better...)
  • Wii Fit U (although I'd prefer a physical version, for the Fit Meter thing)
  • Art Style: CUBELLO
  • Star Fox 64 (either the VC or 3DS version)
  • Super Metroid (for either Wii or Wii U)
  • Eco Shooter: Plant 530
  • Majora's Mask (although I might just wait and get the 3DS remake instead...)
  • Fluidity (but not Spin Cycle until I've beaten the original)
  • Sakura Samurai
  • A Kappa's Trail
  • Dillon's Rolling Western 2: The Last Ranger (can someone tell me if the tower defense focus is stronger or weaker in this one than in the original?)
  • CrossworDS Plus
  • Brain Age: Concentration Training
  • Kid Icarus: Uprising

I'm not going to bother adding up how many coins it would cost to get all of those, because that would just depress me once I see how far away I'd be... Anyways, any help deciding which one I should go with? I realize they're all pretty different, so it's kind of hard to compare, so it might just come down to which genre I feel like I need a fresh taste of, but I could still use some help even in that regards...

Well, I loved all three of the previous Paper Marios, and I've been pretty neutral on all the NSMB, so yeah. I mean, I've heard that SS was pretty bad, I just miss PM so much that I'd probably try to suffer through it. :P
As a Paper Mario fan and as someone who is not impressed by NSMB, I'd go with NSMB 2.
Yeah, I've heard that SS was pretty bad, I hope we'd get a good one on the Wii U one of these days. Also, W101 is also an option, but I really didn't like the demo.
It dosen't look bad, and it's been a while since I played any of the NSMB games so I might get it.
Frame the puzzle. That seems like a cool idea.
I don't actually have enough for the puzzle, I was just stating how I'd wish to have a poster to be available instead.

Sticker Star is not a bad game; it is hated for not being The Thousand Year Door 2.

Ugh! 500 points! I wanted to grab either New Super Mario 2 or Sticker Star.

Yes, yes, I know, it's not a great game, but I enjoy it for the aesthetic and writing.

Uh no. Sticker Star is a pretty terrible game. The whole battle system is reliant on one-time use stickers, and for the more powerful ones you have to make repeated trips to shops or to the stages where they are found. I would have to backtrack constantly in order to grab powerful stickers to help make short work of bosses.

All I wanted was a battle system like Paper Mario 64/Thousand Year Door and similar writing. I got neither.

It's a really good game, just different. A lot of it'll come down to how much you can stand change, as well as how important the carrot of exp and stuff is to you. It still has a good bit of the classic Paper Mario humor, just much, much less talkative than the other games. And it's of course really beautiful. I can see how people dislike it, but I honestly loved it, so at least it's not unlikable garbage, just different.

Well, from what I've heard, it's quite different, so it's kinda hard to get a grasp on what to expect from it. To be fair though, if I played a PM game right now, I'd prefer it'd be at least somewhat similar to TTYD or 64. I don't know, this is a hard decision to make. lol :P

Well, whether I get SS or not really hinges on finding another 80 coins, so I may have to just stick with NSMB2. Even, then, when's the cut off point to register a game? I know that anything release post Jan something wont work, but what about earlier games?

Anyone with coins to burn, I want a 3DS download. I have a set of the Animal Crossing posters to trade, new in poster tube.

PM if interested.

Wait, you can get GAMES for coins?? I always thought it was just merchandise! Damn, I need to cash in on my coins now, haha. Do only Nintendo games work, or any games purchased on Nintendo platforms?

Usually Nintendo exclusives will have a redeemable card, not necessarily only exclusives. You can also redeem the systems you own.

Yess, sniped a Majora's Mask bag. Now... what to do with the other 900 coins. Starfox 3D? How is it?

Can I use MM3DS for coins to get me to elite status?

Typically anything Nintendo developed or published. Anything released after January 20th doesn't include codes any more.

No, because it comes out after January 20.

You can register games up through the end of March. So you've got about 2 months.

You probably won't be able to see it since the site is hammered, but there are some games other than Nintendo games that come with Club Nintendo codes (though from what I have seen, most of them are the digital version).

I have an extra KIRBY 3 code for WiiU.

If anyone would like to redeem a super metriod or super punch out code and trade with me, that would be amazing!

DO new titles no longer give out coins? I've got 530 and I'd like to be able to work up to 600 for one of those free retail games before the promotion goes away in the summer.

FOr instance, I'm definitely getting Majora's Mask 3D, with that still come with a Club Nintendo code?

All hail Miyamoto lol.

Any games released after January 20 will not be eligible for Club Nintendo.

Even worse that it doesn't play like a Paper Mario game. At least Super Paper Mario had fun characters and neat ideas.
I wanted to like it, but it is the worst because it is so boring. Dream Team may get criticized, but at least I had fun with it.

Figured since my n3DS didn't have a code. Pretty much NES Remix/Captain Toad is the last games with them.

What a haul!

120 coins
Ended up with:
Majora's Mask Messenger Bag
NES Remix
Trying to get 100 more coins for Zelda: Link's Awakening

Slammed is not an apt enough word to describe the atrocities on club nintendo right now. The servers have likely melt into themselves. I'm just lucky enough to be able to pull up the log in page.

Would have gotten force deity puzzle but i'm afraid of family losing the pieces. I really want that duck hunt poster QQ.

420 coins left. I want to get super mario 64 and nother title like super mario bros 3

Yet again I can't get a messenger bag because I don't have enough. ;_; even in the end.

It is probably a dumb a question but, the games labeled as Wii can or cannot be played through the Wii channel on the WiiU?

I barely mess with VC so I was confused.

You can redeem them by going to Wii Menu, then Wii Shop Channel, and at Settings (forgot what it was called, but it can be located at the bottom right) and there is a part where you can select to redeem a download ticket.
