So this guy's posting an article following the announcement it appears, and here's what he's had to say:

At about 10:30pm EST/3:30am GMT tonight (ish) we'll have two articles on the future of FF13 to coincide with announcements from Japan.

With that said, here's three little hints.

EDIT - What do you guys think?

Lightning Returns as the lead character, single player game (?) and the fight against Bhunivelze?

Whatever it it, i just hope it brings a somewhat nice conclusion to the Lighting saga. My mind is still dizzy after finishing XIII-2 a couple of days ago and seeing its insane ending.

Lightning returns is the title. It'll be an action rpg where you control Lightning alone and you play through a single day/month/year like Majora's Mask? (That screenshot is from MM right?)

APZ, you tease.

Kagari has also been throwing around Batman references. Too bad I havent seen most of the movies or anything.

Here's my guess -

Lightning Returns

Some sort of strategy game

She travels back in time to the first day of the 13 days in FFXIII

Hmm...

APZ's sphere of influence is spreading.

Solitaire hints more strongly at lolGREEgame rather than single player game.

My speculation:

Batman Returns -->

-Lightning's back.

I don't really know what else this could mean. I'm not too familiar with Batman.

Solitare -->

-No party members, just Lightning is playable.

or

-Card game!

When I think of solitare, I think of single player card game. I don't really know what else it could mean.

Majora's Mask -->

-Must travel backwards (and forwards?) through time to prevent some disaster (the world turning into Valhalla or something)

Time travel is probably important...

No party members, if true, is a deal breaker for me. Really really sucks.

As much as I complained about the characters in FFXIII, it was the lack of development that I had issue with. George R. R. Martin spends more time developing prologue characters he's going to kill off than the cast of FFXIII got. If Lightning's the only playable character?

Triple Triad returns ?!?

OMG!

I'm pretty excited to see what they show off tomorrow, visual wise. The concert art in the XIII series has always been amazing, and I'm sure we'll see some of that tomorrow.

I mean, how boring was it when fighting with Lightning alone in RoTG? They'd have to make it an action RPG to be interesting.

Yeah, me too. FF13 has, I think, one of the strongest worlds in the series artistically. Characters less so, but the world of cocoon and pulse is still really beautiful.

No matter what they announce tonight, chances are both the artwork and music will be amazing. The XIII series was fantastic in theses regards, we have to give them that.

Kamikokuryou is an amazing artist -- from Cocoon to Pulse to Archades and Rabanastre.

His drawing of blonde Serah and Lightning (if I'm remember correctly) was also really good. I don't how/why they turned the Lightning armour into such a bad character model in XIII-2:(

This guy needs his own art book!

Music-wise, I really do wonder who'll do the music for FFXV when the time comes. I imagine somebody is already 'signed' to that project... so will it be internal or will they hire in Uematsu or Hamazu or someone else no longer with the company?

Ishimoto's time to shine?

Sekito or bust

The obvious answer here is Mizuta. Especially since he's the best composer SE has now.

I think that who the composer is depends a lot on who is directing the game. Without knowing who is heading the project, it's impossible to tell who could be composing since there are too many variables.

Will probably end up on XIV though, right? Plus the new XI expansion. The MMO world has kept Mizuta busy for a while now.

Sekito would be great, especially if he and Ishimoto worked together.

I'm working on the assumption it's Ito, since he's been deadly quiet. It only makes sense. Will be very surprised if it's not him. That's one reason I guess them ponying up for Uematsu is a (slim) possibility, as those two have worked together before, and IX is arguably some of his finest work.

I don't think he'll end up on FF14. They'll most likely keep using Uematsu for that, unless he starts refusing.
Mizuta hasn't been that busy, else he wouldn't have done Final Fantasy Dimensions.
