Final Fantasy Explorers Coming to NA/EU!

I was interested in this when first revealed, but I've heard it isn't all that great? Is that correct?

Well, like Duckroll I hope we get FF1 3D. hnnngh

Someone in another thread suggested that Splatoon/Smash updates could have been in a Direct if not for Iwata's recent death. FF:E announcement would have fit there well too.
 
I'm not sure whether to buy this or skip it. If it means getting more SE games other than Theatrhythm FF localized (looking at you, DQ), I'll grab a copy if I have money to spare. On the other hand, the JRPG floodgates are opening some more at this point, so I don't know if I should buy this given that January will likely have me exploring Mira.
 
2016 is starting to look real good for 3DS. If there are a few more localizations announced (DQ7/8, DGS, maybe YW2 if the first does well), Pokemon Z, and some other unannounced games then it could even challange 2013 for strongest 3DS year.

I can dream right?

Oh, my bad. For some reason I thought that SE would be bringing over the sequel and not Nintendo yet again.

Hell 2015 3DS is already challenging 2013 in my books.
 
PRAISE BAHAMUT!

Been waiting for this announcement for awhile. Day one for this one. Anything that's even remotely like Crystal Chronicles(FF multiplayer, basically) is something I'm immediately interested in.

That's OK. I think everyone was pretty surprised that Nintendo is publishing it after Squenix's comments on how well it did in the west.

People's thinking on this was backwards generally anyway. My feeling is Nintendo didn't grab Bravely Second because Square Enix would've skipped it, they more likely pushed for publishing after the first game's surprise success. And if you want your Japanese game to sell overseas Nintendo's definitely the publisher to go with, so the partnership still makes some sense for SE too.

Everyone buy like 3 copies and a digital copy so we keep getting Square Enix 3DS games localized

also 2016 is going to be a fun 3DS year. might be a helluva sendoff

I wouldn't say so. SE has pretty much localized all FF games by this point, with the only exception (Type 0) finally being release months back. Plus, Explorers was trademarked last year I believe so we already knew it was coming eventually.
 
Watching videos of explorers and its combat doesn't look as strong as other hunting action games. The game looks pretty rough actually.

Same here in love the Nintendo and Sega 3D Classics.

I like the idea of FF: Explorers too, but I remember on the 8-4 Play podcast ages ago the impressions for it weren't exactly glowing, but maybe that was because they're such massive MH fans and this was a simpler version of that.

Also remember being disappointed that the game doesn't use the 3D of the 3DS for some reason. It doesn't look like it's pushing the system graphically Soni don't really understand the exclusion of it.

As someone who sunk 200+hours into Monster Hunter 4U, that sounds glorious. I don't want another MonHun, just a game in the same vein with lots of FF fanfare.
