I got really lucky with the Death Sickles. I think I have 3 now.
Is Gilgabot down? I tweeted but haven't received my wind job yet

Phew, made it through Byblos...he used web a lot thankfully. 2 party members dead and the rest 1 air slash away but thank goodness. Shame I'm down to 2 Hi potions now (from 6).

There really is nothing to steal until the Ship Graveyard, and even then it's only a rare steal of Ether from Cursed Husks. After that...still nothing great until the Fire Ship when you can steal Hi-Potions.

I found a sprite sheet a long time ago, and I'm just cutting things from it. It's here if you want it.
First job was Blue Mage, second job is...........Beserker. ARGH.
Siren was a clutch victory (Lenna's last hit won the battle), Magissa was a pain (because I didn't know the Ice Rod trick), and Garula went down pretty easy. Progress!

Well since I can't really play until early August, I've unlocked all the jobs and got Monk Berserker Ranger Dragoon. Fun times ahead.
Thief wasnt bad for me. Then they gave me Berserker and now I'm kinda like :\

It's possible to wear down the first phases with physical attacks, but it's not a fast process. The revived form is level 20.
It depends. A lot of the time, yes, it is. However, it might not be if you have better weapons for the Berserker - Rune Axe/Thor's Hammer.

Did you not get Vampire from the bats in the pirate cave? Blue Mage is probably the easiest starting job because of how OP that skill is. Combine that with Aero and Goblin Punch and you really shouldn't be having any problems.

My grinding for rings is killing me. So I'm going to buy one and hope I get Nightingale a lot when I use the Ranger's Animal ability.
I don't think any enemies had Vampire prior to Magissa (and I would've had to grind heavily to even get the learning ability). I got Vampire after I got the dragon post-Magissa.
And I've never beaten FFV to begin with. Soooooooooooo whatevz yo.
My condolences.
But hey! At least you can have two Berserkers in the Fork Tower! Something to look forward to, surely.
Blue Mages already can learn at the outset. The Learning ability is only there if you want to learn as a different class.
Steel bats in the first cave can teach you Vampire.

Well I got it from them post-Magissa. And I don't know half the places to get abilities, as I've never beaten FFV (which I edited into my earlier post).

Monk this time, is a nice change from two years of Black Mage. I don't know how well this will pan out with my anticipated berkserker(s).
They have a certain charm to them!

Squishy, but ridiculously powerful.
First world is a cakewalk with any class that can use Rods. Your worst enemies will be the random encounters. And once you start getting Summons..

To help you find all your blue magic spells as early as possible, if you get lucky and get a beast master or bard it gets even easier because you can use control of the confuse song to get some really powerful spells like white wind and mighty guard.
Edit: Water job is Mystic Knight :| Blue Mage/Mystic Knight I don't even really need my other jobs now. This is going to be a really easy year for me
