Final Fantasy Five Four Job Fiesta 2012

I'm in the last save point of the game, level 37 of average and every class mastered. Any advice before going for Exdeath?

Dancing gear, Kaiser Knuckles (probably, with Time Mage needing Meteor), Rapid-Fire Monk?

Chicken Knife leveled up?

Plenty of Hi-Potions, Phoenix Down?

Have your RM(s) break ice rods on him whenever he's not a hand.

Yeah. I was hoping for a trick that would involve any items already at my disposal. As it happened, I backtracked and bought some rods and slaughtered the flame.

Why don't you have Cura?

...Haven't bought any spells. Felt invincible rocking through with four knights! :D

Or, grind some AP and get Cura and blizzara

You can also get Cura and Blizzara in Karnak.

Cura eh. I'm gonna have to give in and backtrack now I think. Currently up to Byblos and just can't squeak past him. I've one single flame rod and thats it. Normal attacks barely scratch him unless I use Two-Handed which in turn leaves me open to being massacred.

Can't believe I've run myself into a dead end like this by being stupidly unprepared. I need an Evac and Zoom spell!

Finally made it to the second world. Killing the abductor is super easy with blue mage thanks to vampire, but that chest got me once again. They could at least put something cool in it.
Aside from poison gas.

(doesn't the magic lamp has a chance to kill one of it's part with odin?)

Yep! It's pretty useful.

I have 67 hi-potions, 21 elixirs and 28 phoenix downs, I hope I don't need more than that. And I have the rest of things, I suppose I'm ready.

I think my strategy will be Hastega -> Summons (Odin, Golem and Carbuncle) -> KILL

Tweet your stream to RK's twitter, because gilgabot is overloaded to sift through it.

And on that note: stream is back on

I wholly approve of the music you are playing. Though there was one song I really wanted to know what it was but chat was playing up so I couldn't ask. I may pick your brains when the archive is up.

Oh! You got thief. Seems like you are only allowed Wind Jobs!

Well, my formation is:

Bartz Monk
!Rapid Fire (Equip. Ribbons?)
Kaiser Knuckles

Lenna Time Mage
Equip. Ribbons
Protect Ring

Faris Ranger
Artemis Bow
!Rapid Fire
Protect Ring

Krile Dancer
Chicken Knife 127 power
HP +30%
Red slippers

Is it good?

*Garble, garble... Something about killing bosses simultaneously... garble, garble*

God damn you stupid pigs! God damn you Berserker!

I seriously hate Triton, Phobos and Nereid.

Catching those Sand Bears has proven pretty useful, they've been dishing out 2000+ damage every time I release 'em. That, with having Black Mage has made every boss a joke, and that's without breaking any rods.

Magic Lamp? FFS, where is it? I never bother with it as I usually play with a summoner.

If you haven't gotten it yet, at the bottom part of the pool of water near the dwarves. I have never ever fought those three "normally" with the rechacrge point that close.

Edit: At least I think you can get it there. It's a long trek out otherwise.

Why do you think that? I think all the game is pretty well paced.

It's the aesthetic of the world (work is dark), I don't really enjoy the dungeons,
Galuf dies :(
. The biggest thing is there's nothing to look forward to. World 1 you have to look forward to each crystal and the new classes, World 3 you have the 4 tablets for the legendary weapons along with the games most powerful spells and summons to find. World 2 is just kind of there.

You have to use Boko to reach the superior part of Istory Falls, then you find the lamp.

Thank you, though I lucked through it by killing my Berserker and slowly casting Thundaga every turn. I am however still going to get the lamp as a back up.

I did that yesterday and #myjobs when I didn't get anything and no luck. Tried #wind again and looks like I am all set now so thanks for the idea! Hopefully Monks aren't terrible.

I got monk as my first job and I beat every boss in one round until I hit Byblos.

Shield Dragons are skippable, you won't need to go into that castle at all until later in the game. They're pretty much there just to be hard to kill, like those Jackanapes in the Walse Castle basement.

Finally beat that stupid Sand Worm.

The Library was no problem, as Ifrit and Byblos easily fell to Spellblade Blizzara and Fira respectively, but when I went up against that Sand Worm, he decimated my (Monk-2MK-Bard) party. None of the spellblades were effective against it, my party couldn't heal fast enough to overcome multiple quicksands, and my Bard's songs were useless against it. Bard came in handy against Ramuh, as Romeo's Ballad affected him, but none of the status songs affects the sand worm.

I finally decided to just head to Jachol for Coral Swords and some EXP. Gained a level, won a death sickle around Crescent after only 8 Harvesters (Useless to my party, but I thought it would be funny to mention ;) ), and went back to face the sand worm. This time, I started off with Mighty March, and concentrated primarily on regular attacks with MKs Bartz and Faris and monk Galuf. I lucked out, not only did I have more HP due to the leveling, the Sand Worm didn't spam quicksand, and my Elven Mantles and Main Gauche deflected its regular attacks. It finally fell within a few rounds, and I was able to make it through the rest of the desert without much trouble.

It's funny that I had more trouble with it than I did last year with my previous (WM, Berserker, Geomancer) party, probably due to Berserker getting in a few lucky shots and White Mage being able to keep up with the healing.

White and Time mages were both fiesta firsts for me, so who did I get this time???

Ninja! Second go around with this one. Damn good class!

Hard mode? More like easy mode!

Team Mediocrity (Thf/RM/Ranger/Zerk) has hit a definite wall with the crystals. Arrived at Forest of Moore at level 22, and am currently level 32. Basically spinning the wheel hoping for a favorable Berserker/Dancing Knife/Animals outcome. If I'm lucky they enter danger mode and my Thf/Ranger can finish it off within one cast. When I'm unlucky I have to hope for Nightengale procs to heal me and hope I don't get a damage proc that sets another cyrstal into panic mode.

My current conundrum is that leveling more will put a sword dance hit just into panic mode. The up shot is that 5 or so levels should let sword dance procs one shot the crystals. The silver lining is that by the time I'm done here I can probably skip all fights except bosses till the end.

Haha maybe next year, Hard Mode will remove the chance of getting certain jobs completely

so what does flying squirrel even do

I've got another twitter account that is doing Berserker risk next.

Even if I did get him as the last character a Berserker with heals, protect, haste and two weapons is no challenge at all.

well exqueeze me

I won! It did Almagest, but I could defeat him before he could do a second one (without the protection of Golem to avoid the latter physical attacks it's even more dangerous).

This has been an easy fiesta thanks to Time Mage. I thought that monk was the worst class of the four until I saw that Bartz/Bobo was the only one surviving Almagest.

Great!

Final time?

After throwing as many as battle axes as I can against Archeoaevis, I got my next job!

Woo, dancer time!

So my job set up is: Theif/Mystic Knight/Ninja/Dancer

Changed my avatar to awesome Dancer|Bartz for this.
