Final Fantasy III DS - Official US Topic

I won't be adding JP friend codes to the index in the OP. It wouldn't make sense. We do have another thread floating around (an older one by Red Scarlet, IIRC) that is filled with JP friend codes, however.

No problem, wasn't expecting to get indexed in the OP, and I don't plan of reviving an old thread. I was just putting it out there in case someone was still playing the JP version. :D

BTW a tip for people at the early part of the game.

make sure you get the firestaff at the gnome doctors house

I've taken a break from playing since I got my copy of Jump! Ultimate Stars.

Great game though. I was in the process leveling THF to 71 for
Odin's Gungnir.

Question for those who've played at 10 hours or more:
I just upgraded The Enterprise to an airship and I've discovered what looks like a huge fish from Animal Crossing. :) It's a big tear drop-shaped shadow moving around in a lake surrounded by mountains. How do I get there?

you need the
invincible!

Added Moblin and Kaeru.

Anyone who has added me and has not received mail from me, just let me know. I've trying to keep track of who I have and haven't sent mail to. If it has been more than a couple days and my FC (3350 9156 7920) is white on your list, let me know and I'll get one out to you.

added Moblin, yggdrasil and meijlian

I cant email you though, its still gray.

My friend code:

1632 9394 8771 (US)

edit: I could send an email to Yggdrasil, it says "hi" :)

added threadstarters code too

*rummages for code*

3265 0270 9695

do I need to do anything special to get people linked up like contact (which required being online at the same time, explicitly looking for people), or just add everyones friend code from the first post?

Already Victrix, I've indexed you.

NOTE: If your number is 29 or higher, you needn't bother adding me to your address book. Mine is already full with the first 28 people listed here. Sorry about that!

Added Nossato, LJS9502_basic, and ToD_

Quick question. . . to get the job Onion Knight do you have to send 7 messages, or receive 7 messages (or send/receive) before you get the Onion Knight quest?

Not sure how to open the Onion Knight quest, but Cid just sent me an e-mail all about how the ladies dig fresh vegetables :lol I love this game!

Just keep exchanging emails with different folks (should be easy here on GAF) and keep on sending messages to the NPCs as well. Eventually, you'll get a 4th response from the elder of the first town (Ur) talking about how the children went missing. That's what triggers the quest.

Thanks for the help (and the thread), I was reading Sallokin's post in this thread on the Onion Knight, but I wasn't sure if you had to only send messages or get replys.

You have a message :)

So, just picked this up today, but I didn't realize my DS battery was so low. Now that it's recharged I should be able to unlock the wifi portion of it soon.

You're welcome, and I'm not sure. But with 30+ folks here online and willing to message you, you'll accrue the required number of exchanges in short order.

I imported this game from America as I am a huge Final Fantasy fan and im so let down.. the graphics are so horrible that I can barely stand to play.. the original Sprites looked so much better than badly attempted 3D..i want to love it but its pushing me away and meaning that Phoenix Wright 2 is pretty much left in the DS 24/7

Damn, this game is very slow paced it made me sleep my chair in the middle of some random battle. Last time I did that when running away from cops in NFS3. :P

My game just clocked at 6 hours
(just finished tower of owen)
, I hope it will get better soon.

i just killed the salamender with only 2 character standing out (and the other 2 in critical condiction) and it was awesome

Query: My DS' dpad is pure ass, and after testing a friends, I realized just how ass/broken, so I'm getting a replacement from Nintendo. Is this going to affect/screw up my friend codes for my various games?

edit: Added 30-36 and Lord Helmet

Anyone below 30 who added me, let me know and I'll update

Alrighty, it's been a while since I played FF3 Famicom but I have some slight grievances:

-Game definitely seems easier! I remember having a really tough time on the Giant Rat fight, for instance. This time around, with the addition of Desh's random Thundara spells, the fight was a breeze.

-What's up with the monster parties size? In the original game, I remember frequently fighting anywhere from 4 to 8 monsters at once... in this game so far all I'm seeing are either 2 or 3 monster parties.

Currently I'm up to the fire cave... at level 19 or so for all my characters.

uh? i'm finding the temple of time nearly impossible
group of 3 chimera mage appear,SPARK,SPARK,SPARK,GAME OVER! yay!
it's already hard enough this way
oh and having 8 monster in a random fight it's not a good thing!
