Blasphemy.there is no good entry point. the best entry point is never playing any of them
Final Fantasy 4,6, OG 7, 9, 10, and 12 are solid JRPGs. The rest are questionable.

Well, considering we're talking about Square Enix and their inability to manage development budgets, I'm definitely expecting the news: "Despite the fact that we released the game on everything possible, including toasters and refrigerators, the game still failed to live up to expectations and underperformed."

Summer seems too close. I think it's either Fall of Q4. I reckon they'll want to put both the XB and Switch 2 versions at the same time like Remake and Switch 2 will probably need more time cause they're redoing the renderer.

Admittedly, I'm also a sucker for a job system (mastered all the jobs for Ramza in tactics just recently).

They're adding one Final Fantasy game a month to Gamepass. FF2 on February 2nd. So FF7 Remake likely added in July. At the June showcase, they will reveal Rebirth release in July with Remake entering Gamepass. So once people finish playing part 1 via Gamepass, they are more likely to purchase part 2.
And that is how Gamepass is used as a tool for marketing.

No, not Rebirth. Remake gets to join Gamepass on the 7th month of the year, while Rebirth is released same month for purchase.

My bad, I was just posting the official statement from the director of the game.
Anyway, Rebirth should be coming to Xbox and Switch 2 later this year per somewhat credible leakers. Guessing it's a Fall of Holiday period game.

Don't listen to some of the haters. Remake is an excellent game with some of the best music and combat and story the genre has to offer.
I am convinced the vast majority in this forum don't actually like video games.

Third one will fail to meet expectations too
It's not like SE don't get benefits from exclusivity deals - SE will not get hush money on 3rd game for timed exclusivity and will have to marketing game itself

Played an hour or two of Rebirth on PS5 PRO but man, this must be the worst looking AAA title of this generation. Massive, constant pop-in everywhere, low res textures, shadows flickering,... You see a dark alley and you go in and suddenly that alley is completely lit like you are walking in the sun. I couldn't play anymore further.
A shame because I really liked Intergrade (looks much better than Rebirth in my opinion).
