i think you could equip boots. That was one of the greatests asoects of FFIX. There was plenty of equipment.
 
so guys, do the scans say how awesomely awesome Final Fantasy XII is going to be on a scale of 1-100?

Because it seems pretty great!

Ive got to see gameplay, hear the music and get a getter understanding of the plot beofre i can rate it, but judging by the pics, Its certain that it will be 90+

Because it was a MMO? no...that can't be why. It was because they skipped it.

Before playing it, I didn't consider it a real FF either...but the backstory and lore in that game is so awesome and true to FF that I don't think so anymore

Are we talking about gamerankings.com here? I thought you were talking about personal ratings. Both FFX and FFIX were excellent games with plenty to offer. I believe that they both deserved to be in the 90's because they have been outstandning RPG's

I'm talking about the quality of the games, not gamerankings! FFX was an 87, FFXI was an 82! That still makes them excellent games with plenty to offer man. They're just not Matsuno awesome!

I can't wait for this game, everything about it so far screams epic, and I really dig some of the character designs too, and just like Tidus in FFX I'll put up with Vaan. I just hope he isn't quite as whiny. I never get irritated by whiny characters, and in some games it's an endearing character trait, but Tidus got under my skin at certain points despite being a fundamentally sound character.

Between the epic-looking story, potentially deep combat system and huge world to explore, I can't think of a thing about this game that doesn't excite me though, and the wait is killing me!

Ive not played any of the Zelda games before FF&, so I'll just rate what Ive played

FFVII - 98
FFVIII - 92
FFIX - 90
FFX - 93
FFX2 - 85

I rate them very highly because i think that they have all been excellent. No matter what people say to me I will always regard FF as the best RPG franchise. Ive triend playing different RPG's, but none of them, have matched the quality that FF games possess.

Why the hate for FF9 jackfrost?

My one problem with FF9 was how long ti would take for each chcrater toi attack. The attack bar would take forever to fill up. The battle system could ahve been made better too but it was a change and I thought it was entertaining. the characters and the story were very good, which is what made me like it so much.

XII will seperate fans like no other FF before it. VIII has more negative reaction than praise. This will be more debated.

But it's Matsuno so I am happy. His team from Vagrant Story and FFT?? What more could you ask for??

final fantasy 7 it's like the best rpg every made and final fantasy 5 is just sooooooo boring
anyway wasn't this thread about FFXII? why we are talking about other final fantasy?

Huh? I'm not sure what "stats" you're referring to, but weapons and armor always boosted stats.... like ATTACK and DEFENSE... ^^;
 
not in ffx where they just grant you special ability *Buy Armor with 4 empty slot, Add AutoHaste,Auto Phoenix Down,Ribbon,Another Ability*
 
Yeah, so those scan confirmed that every magic/skill must be bought, in addition to buying a license for them with LP points. This will severely limit your ability to make a character a jack of all trade until the end game. That's a good thing imo, especially with the gambit system.

The last page also shows something about "option licenses" where it goes into effect immediately after you buy the license. These are mostly character stat related stuff. So this probably won't really affect the way you get magic/skills.
 
The option license example shown increases the Gambit Slot of the character by 1.

What's even MORE interesting is the screenshot of the Gambit configuration that isn't available in the demo....

It seems that each Gambit you acquire/buy is a CONDITION, and you can script any action onto that Gambit condition.

Example:

Gambit = When Friendly HP < 30%

So you when you equip that Gambit on a Gambit slot, you script an action on it, like: CURE

Then you can actively turn that Gambit for that character ON or OFF during a battle. When the Gambit is ON, that character will cast Cure on any friendly character whose HP drops below 30%. There are supposedly hundreds of different Gambits, so with the right planning this Gambit system could be REALLY useful. :D
 
Yeah, that's basically what I wrote in the other FF12 scan thread. I talked about how the licenses, gambit, all that stuff works.

Yeah, like Teasel said, in FFX you got a weapon with ability type things attached and no actually stats for the weapon..... It made getting a new weapon very boring. v.v;;
 
Okay some more information before I call it a night:

- You regain MP as you walk
- Gate Crystals are save points
- You use teleport stones to teleport between Gate Crystals
- It seems the Mogxi (Moogle Taxi) only warps you around the city itself, but considering how HUGE the capital is, it might be worth paying if you want to cut down on movement time


Oh and at least FFX -had- weapons, FFX-2 didn't have weapons at all! :lol
 
I just hope my character building RPG itch gets scratched while playing this. Its been too long. But looking at the license board and other items I think I'm going to be satisfied.

Weapon, shield, bow, arrows, head, neck, earring, earring, body, hands, ring, ring, back, belt, pants, shoes. :D
 
ugh...when is the anticipated US release? This game HAS to have gone through some sort of localization stage already....

I haven't been this excited for a new FF since VII; I'm anticipating this game so intensely it's probably bad for my health. It's going to fucking rule.

Yeah, I hope we get this kind of stuff in FF XII. That's something I really enjoyed in FF8 - just cruising around, landing on various islands, and looking for stuff. The whole Island Closest to Hell & Island Closest to Heaven thing was neat.

Oh man..you just smacked me in the face with some Nostalgia....I think you had to find each area were you would see a UFO in battle and then you would go somewhere else and you would fight the alien or meet up with it...

Ah well, at least there's the chance the story will be good.
