Final Fantasy XV has entered Beta Phase

Did you know the characters look like a boy band though??? Such a unique observation I have made

I'm expecting 2016 with Day 1 patches and then patches to fix other issues 2 weeks to a month later. In 2017 there will be a game of the year edition complete with any DLC and a fully patched game.

You just explained the release schedule of most western RPGs. I don't think FFXV (or any other Japan-developed game) fits this schedule.
 
Great news, leaves a lot of time for polish.

March trailer is going to be the big one.

Yeah, I'm not in a huge rush at this point. If they want to take a year to polish, that's totally fine. I'm really hoping for solid 1080p 30fps, finely tuned controls and a largely jank-free experience.

...now we just need to know the release date so I can take some time off work.

I see they keep talking of March as the next big meeting. Are they planning to skip Jump Festa this year? Any news?

iirc they said they'd have another ATR before the end of the year, guess it'll be at Jump Festa.
Just expect something on the level of previous presentations, although they said there will be an introduction to the game's villains.

I hope we will see at least a bit of FFXV at JF, but interesting the ED code will be valid until March 20, 2016. Maybe in March its time for a new demo.
 
It might be in. Who knows.

I'd hope it looks a little less DMC-ish though.

However the reason I am asking is because he said they wouldn't have moogles either and now we do in some form. Is the double jumping so much to ask for though? It would have so many uses...

I guess that'd depend on how it impacts the fights. Might make them too easy or allow you to get to spots you probably shouldn't get to.
 
Request the combat to be able revolve around a double jump. If they've ironed out the combat but sacrificed the double jump for it then let's not request it.
 
They really are milking him for what he is worth

Might be part of their 4-season campaign.

4 main characters, 4 seasons.

If they keep with this marketing tactic that means we probably won't see the full game coming out until end of summer or early fall of 2016.

They said they may do one more ATR at the end of the year but nothing is solid yet if they do one it will probably be there.

Although I imagine Jump Festa is basically gonna be a Dragon Quest for SE.
 
Double jump is probably still unlockable or something.

It's not as simple as it sounds. Even something seemingly small like a double-jump would need a ton of changes to every single map's level-design so that you can't go or glitch to places you shouldn't. However, now that I think about it, Chocobos can jump higher than Ncotis and they're available in most places, too, so maybe most overworld maps are already created with more verticality in mind. Indoor- and town-areas would still be a problem if double-jump was to be added this late into development.
