Final Fantasy XV Judgment Disc demo out now on JPSN & JP Xbox Store

Again, not going to say much specifically until the game and/or soundtrack itself is out, but if it helps piece together a (rough, mind you) timeline, our first collaboration with Square Enix on a game soundtrack was Lightning Returns.

Does your TV have settings for overscan? It should.

Nevermind fixed it , thanks btw

Wait a sec...so the high quality version isn't 4k checkerboard? It's 1080p with enhanced visuals? That makes me worry again that the final 4k checkerboard Pro mode might not look as good.
I hope that 1080p enhanced visuals mode is in the final game too.

Honestly I think the final version will look better. The aliasing on the hair especially would get a huge boost from a higher rez.

I was already wondering why the hair looked exactly the same as the hair in the standard PS4 version, even in 4K, lol. XD
I personally doubt we will get 4K checkerboard and additionally higher graphical settings in one mode. Other games in Pro mode also don't do this. It's either higher resolution, or higher framerate or graphical bells and whistles, not all at the same time. But I got snapped at for that view before in other threads. It's just what I think based on what we've seen and heard before from other games on Pro.

Bumping this Q for an A.

In the Options menu, easier to see from the title menu, you should see something for HDR near the bottom, choose the line below that. That one is the "High Quality" settings and on the next page there's 3 lines: High Quality, Low Quality, Restore Default.

FFXIII gave us low-poly dogs. FFXV is giving us low-poly eggs:

Thank you!

Is it just me or is reversing faster than accelerating with the Regalia? When I go forward it's at a snails pace but when I reverse it's faster than moving forward.

I think I might just travel that way by reversing since it's faster.

I know its kinda silly...but do you guys think someone will make some sort of guide that lets us know all the things we can do in the demo?

I was so excited to get to those mines but I guess it's locked out. Seems like they let you pick up the goblin quest but you can't really get to them since they're in the mine right?

For how close the game is, I doubt it. It's good for a playthrough at your own pace then after, I say just delete it and wait for the real deal. I'm completely sold on the game though. Really looking forward to it.

Same. I'm glad I got to really try it out. I probably wouldn't have picked it up if it wasn't for this demo.

What is the objective outside of the
motel?
I see the marker here but nothing is happening?

I got stuck there too.
I have no idea what I did to trigger it, but I just kept approaching the motel desk and eventually a new cut scene played.

You'll know you're progressing when the dog shows up.

So is there any special unlock for beating the new demo?

Otherwise I'll just put it off. Too close to release.

A special trailer.
Other than that I doubt it, because that would be unfair to anyone outside Japan. I still don't get why it is Japan exclusive.

It drives me crazy that you can't warp or reliably attack outside of combat.

I want to get comfortable with the combat controls without pressure and use warps for traversal, but...no.

Watching the walkthrough now, and only a few minutes into the training, and wow at the music. Superb. I already knew it would be, but it just keeps delivering. :)

Downloading it now. But it won't be finished for quite some time. How is the Performance on a regular PS4?

I replayed Episode Duscae and Platinum yesterday and it reminded me of how unstable they were. Duscae crashed for me after several performance issues while Platinum had problems with stuttering.

I was thinking of not downloading this when I was at work so you know that means the minute i got home I did it anyway. I haven't logged into my Japanese account in a while. It asking me some questions before it would let me log in or maybe it was trying to tell me new features. I just clicked buttons till the store loaded lol.

Impatiently waiting now.

Speed run strats already discovered.

You know I think it might be my controller.

I've played FFXIV so much that for a while the R2 made squeaky noises whenever I pushed it.

I think the pressure sensitivity is messed up on it since I was able to move a bit faster by pushing harder than normal on the button.

I guess I can just use the controller that comes with the pro (it comes with a controller right?) to alleviate that issue.

Yes please, for those who play on PS4, how is the framerate? Are there any framepacing issues, is the framerate solid under stressful moments?

How playable/unplayable do you guys think this is if you don't know Japanese?

It's quite playable.
Quest markers and objectives are very intuitive, and the few dialog choices and such make no real effect on anything.

You'll want to see a translation to delve into the Options and Skill Tree menus, but, honestly, they're not vital.
Options can be figured out through educated guessing and context, and skills you can just buy as soon as you have the AP and not worry too much about what you've actually gained.

Thanks! I'll give it a bash so.

Stupid question here regarding the starting tutorial. I've seen is quite boring and long. Is the game teaching you how to play through the story mode making this tutorial an accessory or is this only piece of instructions inside this game before heading to a real battle?

Sorry guys, is dodging with square a Japanese thing and it is actually circle in the western version? Can I change that? Felt really odd to me, like to attack with square and dodge/parry with circle.

Can someone tell me what HUD options the game supports?

Can the Health Bars be contextual when you are not in combat so that when you roam the world the screen is rid of them and they appear only when you enter combat?
