It's up at least on PSN / Apple / Amazon.
Going to watch it tonight, unless it's an error and they pull it out.

Amazon
iTunes

At long last, Final Fantasy XV fans will be able to watch the highly anticipated Final Fantasy XV prequel movie today.

While originally it was meant to launch on Tuesday tomorrow, certain webstores including Amazon, Apple, and PlayStation Store have already made the movie available.

Is it possible to rent it in hd in any of those platforms?

If I say I want it on Netflix, does it count as port begging? lol

Not sure about iTunes as I don't have it installed on this PC, but Amazon and PSN are purchase only unfortunately.

Bit silly really when most of the more dedicated fans will have pre-ordered physical editions of the game which include the movie...

I'll just wait. *shrug*

Damn, this is the only time I'd like to take advantage of PSN Video, and yet their content is geographically gated.

Oh well, iTunes here I come.

Edit: ...and it's not up on my iTunes Store either. What a load of bull.

This. I'm desperate to see it, but I've already got the CE preordered and prefer physical when buying.

Yeah, the way they are handling the release of this movie annoys me. I'm not going to buy the movie twice, that would be insane, but at the same time I don't want to feel "punished" for pre-ordering the CE.

Not much they can really do about it, though, but I can't imagine that sales of the movie will be any good. Final Fantasy fans will have the collector's/deluxe edition of FFXV pre-ordered and only the hardcore of the hardcore will be impatient enough to buy the digital version of Kingsglaive now when they'll get the Blu-ray in a couple months.

I know nothing really about Final Fantasy XV, beyond snippets. I don't know who anyone is and haven't been keeping up with story - character bios.

How accessible is this story wise to those who have seen it, and does it inspire you to want to play FFXV?

It's really nothing more than a long opening cutscene to the game, featuring people who won't be in the game, and barely featuring people who will.

According to Huber from Easy Allies, it really hypes you up for FF XV.

Ehh it could go either way. It's a film for XV fans with a bunch of FF and versus nods.. Just don't go in expecting some masterpiece. It's a glorified opening and a action movie.

Hopefully the option to rent will come closer to the game's release. I imagine they want to capitalize on sales up front.

I'm getting the deluxe edition of the game but I'd rather not wait until November 30th to see it lol

Though Redbox could solve that if they're getting it

I bet I'll weirdly like Kingsglaive...just like how I absolutely love the first Mortal Kombat movie...so bad but so good...

Its not a great standalone film, basically i see it as Sumplemental to the game (in shorter terms if you're gonna play FF15 You should absolutely watch it, if not SKIP) I did enjoy it however.

I think it would be better if you guys wait for the game close to release first. This movie is basically a glorified intro CG cutscene for FFXV.

Nice. Hopefully I can find a way to watch it here in NA tonight. Already got the Steelbook Brotherhood bluray and FFXV Deluxe editions preordered, but I'm not waiting until October for the bluray release.

I've streamed some stuff from Amazon in 1080p and it was clear and smooth, what's wrong with their quality? Can you provide an example?

It's been awhile but last I used prime was that their compression was just as bad as Netflix's while vudu was pumping out near blu-ray video and audio at about 20mbps. There was a huge difference in clarity.

Plus if I buy Vudu......4 other folks linked to my account get to watch it anyways good stuff!
