But expect 2013 to be the start of the next gen, I also fully expect for them to release the "complete" Edition of BF3 with all expansion packs and 64 players on the next gen systems.

Neither better nor worse than I expected. DICE's art design for the game goes a long way.

EDIT: Those buildings in the far-off view are pretty nasty though.

red73, yes, that's what they do for console versions. 8 black lines at the top, 8 at the bottom, 704 effective vertical resolution but no stretching in software.

If you mean the high-res packs for consoles then they are there.
I think opptional on X360 and forced on PS3 with installation(but who would even mind right?).
