Hopefully, they (gameware) will stock the American Freeloader version as well since I can't wait to play PAL Mario Kart Wii on my NTSC Wii console.

Nah, it's the same for me as well.
 
Just had a quick look around and some folks over at Ntsc-UK have had theirs shipped today. They use UPS so that explains the high postage.
 
Mine shipped today, as well (and I'm an American living in MD, USA). If it matters, my was also a UPS shipping option...though I didn't see any other shipping option for me, either... :lol

Any way, you can probably expect me to be one that will validate how well JP Brawl works on an American Wii, some time soon...

When did you order yours? I did at 12:57:59 (UK Codejunkies order history time) on Feb 28th, and it's still In Process / Unpaid / Unshipped.

Well I ordered one (also in MD, United States - guess we like Freeloaders here :D ) and it shipped today, with a UPS tracking number. The tracking doesn't seem active yet, so I figure it'll get here early next week.

This has been a good week. Now I can import Wii titles from Japan so I am not behind in coverage since Nintendo sends me jack crap anymore in ways of review copies, and I got a hold of a legit DS capture device. Excellent. I'll try to get video footage of it running when it comes in.

Same here, fuck it, ship it already.
So anyway, i live in Italy, how many days do you think it will take to get here after they ship? just think at Europe in general.
 
Also i don't get why the supposed "European Version" says: UK Wii

Why not just "EUROPEAN Wii"?

Im sure Australian online retailers like DVDCrave getting copies later on.....though i was looking for something that will have them in stock sooner and not months down the track.


So far, DVD-UK is the only online retailer that ships the PAL Freeloader internationally (that im aware of). Have i missed anything?

You need a TV that handles an NTSC signal right? My TV supports RGB, does that mean it'll work with an NTSC signal or did I just find a perfect excuse to buy a HDTV?

Nah, Most PAL TV's built in the last 10 years should support an NTSC signal, as an NTSC signal is at 60 Hz and a lower resolution.
 
So, there is a Freeloader fpor the Wii now that also enables you to play import games on your console? Can it get unusable with a firmwareupdate in the future?

I don't blame them. I am quite tired of reading people bitching in this thread about it shipping. It's not like it will get there any faster if you e.mail and ask or login to check the status 5 times a day.

The best packages are the ones you don't expect anyway.. just forget about it and go play a game or do some work.

Right. Except I have a genuine reason for needing this here before next weekend, as I will be away for a month and don't know what the university does with mail they've had in there for a month. Hence my e-mails asked them about when it ships so whether or not I need to change the address.

If you are using the Wii RGB cable and your TV accepts a 60hz signal then you will be fine. RGB bypasses the NTSC/PAL colour encoding and so that becomes a non issue.

I may be wrong but with the GC Freeloader I think when you played a NTSC game on a PAL GC it was outputted in PAL60 anyway due to the hardware, and since Wii is similar to the GC in many respects the result could be the same. Either way, if you have a RGB cable you are all set.

Either way this is exciting stuff and if it works well I may buy a Wii sooner that I had expected.
