Fire emblem warriors not compatible with old 3DS??

FirmBizBws

Becomes baffled, curling up into a ball when confronted with three controller options.
I stumbled upon a listing while I was on Amazon and it said that the game wasn't compatible with the "old 3ds". Now this isn't a problem for me because both 4es systems I have are "new 3ds" systems, but what's really going on here?

What's the justification? Has this happened to games in the past or is this the first 3ds game to do this? Is the new 3ds system really that much more powerful than the old one that certain games just won't work anymore?

I mean I understand that it's more powerful, because some games have faster load times, but an entire game being incompatible?

Have they discontinued the "old" 3DS?

Hyrule Warriors played like shit on the OG. I don't get why they're bothering with a 3DS port at all, to be honest, but whatever

Hyrule Warriors Legends barely ran on the old 3DS so they decided why bother. Especially since it's a cross-gen release anyway.

Seems strange considering they didn't mention that in the presentation. I think Amazon's made a mistake in their listing.

Distinctly remember the Direct citing FE Warriors as New 3DS/Switch exclusive.

Hyrule Warriors was barely playable on N3DS and to get the best framerate you had to completely kill 3D.

No way Fire Emblem Warriors would be ok on old 3DS.

Xenoblade 3D is whole game thats incompatible as well. You never knew they planned on making games only for New 3Ds?

They did mention it. You guys might have selective listening

As noted, it's not the first exclusive and yes, the New 3DS is effectively a generational leap over the old one, though most of the extra power is for the super stable 3D and Fire Emblem Warriors was stated to only be on the New 3DS at its reveal.

See Hyrule Warriors Legends. Game runs pretty terribly on the old model. Fire Emblem is probably running on the same engine.

Umm, there are already more than 10 titles exclusive to the new 3DS. go take a look at Hyrule Warriors 3DS and you will understand.

The justification is that it'll run like shit just like Hyrule Warriors on an older 3DS, so they decided to skip it entirely to concentrate optimizing for the newer model.

It honestly didn't have the best 3D effect IMO, and I'm a fan of having 3D on most of the time.

With it off I think it plays totally competently on the New 3DS.

Barely? HW runs at locked 30fps in N3DS with no 3D. The Wii U version does much worse.
