Firefox taking dumps

Firefox has become very slow for me within the last year. If you keep the browser open for many hours it starts to slow down and cause problems.

If there's a GIF-- one GIF-- on a NeoGAF page Firefox becomes unusable offline. We're talking 5-30 minute hang times.

But all my settings are on it :(

Anyone happen to know how to fix the problem the OP had where firefox crashes anytime you open a new tab? Mine started doing that this past January and I haven't been able to fix it since.

Hangs with gifs and Youtube is horrible, half the time when I try to skip ahead the video will go into eternal loading and I lose all control. Lately videos have even begun going black.

I just want it all fixed. Don't want to switch.

I assume you've tried creating a fresh profile? It it happens on a fresh profile then it must be some interaction between your specific PC setup and FF.

So yeah, I switched to the 64-bit version and it was fine for a while, it still would hang but only for a second or two but eventually it went back to pretty much being the same shit show the 32-bit version was. Ugh...

This, except include nearly anything that involves flash. Bitch has been crashing constantly over the past few months. Really annoying cause it used to be so stable, especially compared to garbage like Internet Explorer.

You guys need to learn about Vivaldi. Used it even before the beta, more stable than FireFox was for me before, and it has a bunch of good features that an old Opera user, like me, would appreciate. The first actual release is coming soon too.

The fact that you can't grab a tab and make it a new window is what broke it for me, I NEED that. Otherwise it seems really slick, especially for web devs

40-50% cpu usage when watching Twitch streams since yesterday (normally it's around 20%+).
When using chrome 21-25 percent

I don't know what's going on :(
