It's kinda homoerotic isn't it? I expect them to grab their hands and engage in a long wet kiss
I'd buy that movie

Watching the Comic Con panel on youtube, and I'm really impressed by Andrew's understanding of the character. I also feel like he gets Spider-Man a lot more than the writers in the first film.

That's what a lot of us ASM lovers have been saying since the beginning. Andrew Garfield is a much better Spider-man because he understands the material. That and the movie captures the mood of the comics better than the Sam Raimi movies.

Yea, I felt the writing in TASM held back Garfield a lot, it's worth noting I don't like Vanderbilt- and knew off the bat that the writing wouldn't be solid.

The Rundown and Zodiac are probably the best movies he's written, I'd go as far as to say Orci and Kurtzman is almost an improvement over him. Thing is Alvin Sargent, who wrote the Raimi trilogy (he was uncredited with David Koepp for SM1) also helped a little writing the TASM. So I'm not really sure what to expect, but I think we'll get a better film than the first one.

Garfield and Webb actually have a great understanding of the character, but the execution was sloppy the first time around even though I enjoyed it. They kind of implied that if it were up to them they wouldn't have done an origin story for the first film- but Sony's gonna Sony, and stretch this out into 4 movie franchise to keep the license. Spider-Man is not a hard hero to do on the big screen at all, to actually make a bad Spidey movie you need all the wrong steps lol. So I think out of these 4 films, we're due a compelling Spider-Man movie.

I wasn't a huge fan of the first ASM, cause Spidey was a dickish dick and The Lizard felt a bit like wasted potential, but I did like Gwen Stacy.

But I dig what we're hearing about this one.

God damn... every time I see the spidey suit I'm blown away by how good it looks. I'm digging Electro too. Honestly, what were people expecting him to look like when they heard Electro was going to be the villain? It's no worse than Goomba-head Lizard man.

Secretly Andrew Garfield planted the idea of Peter being gay, so that we would accept this inevitably happening in TASM 2. Way to ruin the reveal with a slip Garfield!

I'm not sure about the best way to "modernize" Electro, but turning him into an angry purple scrotum probably isn't it.

if you haven't noticed most promo shots of comic book movie characters are usually dreadful but end up working alright thanks to that cinematic magic™ otherwise known as cinematography.

dat Maguire/Dunst chemistry

lol yeah it looks like shit but it really worked in the first two because of the awesome scripts.

garfield/stone appeared to have better chemistry but their scenes together were fucking horrible to sit through. a lot of weird awkward dialogue from garfield.

I'm actually hyped up about this one. That beautiful and perfect Spidey suit is really mesmerizing. I'm sure they know what went wrong on the first one and made sure they fixed all of that.

TAS was not a good movie. I was told it was by friends and avoided impressions here.

Trust GAF.*

This teaser really doesn't tell me much, but if it's the same people involved then it'll probably be shitty.

Like 40% of the time.

Because there was nooooooo awkward dialoge from Dunst and Maguire at all, right? "Don't tell Harry!" How about fuck off Dunst.

They did a better job working with Tobeys strengths for peter (dorky awkward) than they do with garfield in ASM.

So am I the only one here that prefered the reboot to Raimi films?

You're not lol.

I know people who did, people who didn't but liked it, and people who hated it. You're always gonna get that with reboots.

They all have good reasons. Raimi is a far more experienced Director than Webb, and it shows when you compare the films. People over exaggerate with Andrew's performance, yea the writing is shit, but Drew did a good job with the material he had to work with.

I can't bring myself to say TASM is better than SM2- but I will say I have higher hopes for this sequel than I did for TASM. They are making much better decisions this time around as far as approaching Spider-Man goes.

Nope.

What I really don't understand about them is the massive boner everyone seems to have for the train fight, it's just kind of boring.

Lol, I love the train scene, and most of the encounters between Spidey and Ock. Goblin's fight scenes were far more wonky and goofy, but were appropriate for the time.

I LOVED the Spidey vs Lizard scenes in TASM.
