First Electro teaser from Amazing Spider-Man 2

Can't overstate how pleased I am with Spidey's costume. They FINALLY nailed it, very Bagley-esque (which I assume is what they wanted)

I don't want Gwen to die :(

Even taking into account the fact its' off screen cam footage the trailer looked really flat. Raimi's sequels always made a point of selling the emotional arc of the characters first and the superheros/villains second. This just felt like a bog standard trailer. Where was Emma Stone is all that?

It's early and I doubt that's the final cut of the trailer but even still I wasn't that impressed. And the 'creation' of Electro looks just as fucking stupid as it sounded. Electric eels? Pffft.

Just think guys... in 20 years we'll be arguing about which of the 4 Spider-Man trilogies is the least terrible and Spider-Man still won't have been in either of the Avengers trilogies.

I vote for the trilogy that has The Rock as Venom and/or Robert Knepper as Carnage.

Looks... exactly like the first one. No action "money shot," and Electro's story couldn't be more cliched.

I can't believe that even after the first one, we have to watch another 'LAB ACCIDENT TURNS DUDE INTO SUPERVILLAIN' story. Its the same exact shit.

I don't think he's a lab accident, the trailer clearly shows he wanted to be like Spiderman, he's a nobody wanting to be a somebody, he turned himself into Electro and from the few scenes you saw, you can tell he was rejected by the public and he turned bad...just my guess...

And it's always just a means to an end. Don't see how it's a big deal. The event is cliched, yeah, but it's always just like a minute or two of the movie.

Amazing Spider Man was good but it's like they just want to see how much fans can take before they go crazy. How many villains are in this one? Last I heard Vulture was in this.

Give me Carnage!

No. Keep Carnage out of it.

1. They need to prove they can do Venom first, after Raimi ****ed them up.
2. PG-13 Carnage? LOL

i'm actually surprised by this, I always felt like they were trying to keep the story a little closer to the comicbook compared to Raimi... And if I recall correctly that's not how Electro becomes Electro in the comics

Some really lazy callbacks/imitations of SM2 in just that footage alone.

"We all have a choice", cut to Spidey holding back up some moving vehicle, close-up on foot shredding through the ground

And skip Eddie Brock? No way.

What they *should* do is introduce Eddie in one of the Amazing Spider-Man movies, then go do an R-Rated Lethal Protector spinoff.

I don't have much confidence in Sony after the last movie and new trailer kinda confirms it.

it's all about opinions, I really liked the first Amazing Spider-Man and thought it was miles ahead of Spider-man 3, and NeoGaf is the first place i've seen so many people hate this movie. That being said I hated the Raimi trilogy so...

You were doing good until you said you hated the Raimi trilogy. :p IMO, the first two Raimi movies and ASM were all great. Spider-man 3 was the stinker for me.

well, the first 2 Raimis weren't that bad but I just didn't liked the general feel in both of them, also Maguire as Peter just never worked for me sadly. I prefered ASM over both of them is what I actually meant to say

the 3rd one was fucking terrible though, everything about that movie sucked

Holy shit that looks great.

Looks pretty bad, just like Man of Steel.

Spidey stops a vehicle, must be copying Raimi's movie. *sigh*

Even though Superman used to stop trains like that all the time. Webb already admitted there would be nods to all sorts of Spider-Man lore in the movies, yes, even the Raimi films. I doubt the whole scene will be the duration of Spider-Man stopping the train in SM2- it's a bus....

With that said, I liked the footage, was it cheesy? Yes. But Spider-Man is cheesy, and this actually looks like to what makes Spider-Man great on film.

I'm excited, and I'm still a little worried about the writing. Acting isn't a concern to me cause to me at this point, I feel that they can deliver on that front.

But I liked what I saw. Spider-Man's abilities on full display here.

How did you want to him to get his powers? Would you like it if he built a suit that can provide him with the God-like powers that Webb described? But hey, then how the hell did this guy built that suit by himself? that shit is unrealistic! fuck this film!
