First Forza 5 Direct Feed Gameplay: Bernese Alps

How is it that the car doesn't get darker or lighter at all dependent on the light source hitting (or not hitting) it? Completely ruins my immersion here.

Would be a better comparison if we were able to get identical cars and light-position on the track though.

Yeah. Better than nothing though.

Lighting looks a little better on Forza 5, and the fog/clouds by the mountains add a nice effect. Otherwise, texture detail and just environment detail in general looks of identical quality.

They've ditched the fencing :(

Motion blur definitely in and is that some volumetric fog/cloud i see?

You're right, seems that motion blur is still present since e3.

Good to know there is no downgrade.

Doesn't look that great to me. I just don't see that generational leap from the FM4 Burmese Alps video. Prague still looks like the benchmark. But I guess it doesn't help that the video quality is atrocious, even at '1080p'.

Yepp, that's Forza.
I'm sorry but I'm really not impressed. It definitely doesn't look bad but sure as hell doesn't scream NEXT GEN to me. And I wish they would show a 2 lap video for once so we can see how the split times are displayed in the HUD.

Nothing new honestly. We already knew the car models looked good. But everything else is very 360'ish

Drive Club > Forza 5

Who would of thought the best example of next gen on Xbox One will be DR3 (Launch Title anyway)

Ryse using Depth of Field & Killer Instincts particle effects are good examples of Next Gen.

Sunlight is probably one of my favorite effects in games lol.
It can be cool, but not like this. Eg. in an adventure cave, stepping out of the cave and being blinded by the Sun would be cool. In a racing game blinding the player for parts of the track by artificially putting a gigantic sun unrealistically low in the sky is a terrible, terrible idea that adds absolutely nothing.

I'm wondering if FM5 will have better visuals in TT mode than race mode, like FM4 did.

FM4 looked far better in time trial mode (Even a better car model with visible innards), due to there only being one car on track. They may be able to do this again.

First time I played a Forza game the graphics didn't impress me as much as the physics and sounds. This looks good, but I really want to see it in 60fps, with a good sound system and feel the road traction :)

You need to come drive here in TX when the sun is rising, at mid-day, and setting to realize that there is nothing artificial about being blinded by the sun.
