First In-Game Screenshot of RollerCoaster Tycoon World

I'd wait for more to come out before we declare Planet Coaster's success. Just like RCTW, I'm not convinced until I see how it plays. A teaser trailer, much like these screenshots don't mean a lot.

In the meantime, keep an eye on Parkitect. It's the 2D spiritual successor to RCT2, and looks like it's going to be fun to play for a while. It's coming out in early access in the next month or so. If you look it up on YouTube though, look up recent footage. It's gone through a lot of development since it was conceived.

Man, that doesn't look so hot either. Maybe one day we'll get something up to snuff like RCT2/RTC3. I hope Frontier comes through.

Their track record are mostly mobile games, so if they come out with something amazing, cool.

until then, im not holding my breath.

They made The Secret World, which was somewhat decent iirc.

Although I really don't think the game will turn out well. Even if the developers were amazing it's all up to the publisher to ensure that the development goes smoothly. That they've nonchalantly carousel-ed three different devs and three different engines into the same game, plus knowing Atari's latest buffoonery as a publisher, I don't trust that the final product will be any good. All we've seen are art assets, we've learned nothing about the game, how it's balanced, etc.

newest shots of RCTW. Taken from a beefed up gaming pc at 4k.

Oh my god..
Please be real!

I'm super excited for this game. Especially after the latest screenshots and info dump. So we should look out for:

Rollercoaster Tycoon World
Parkitect
Planet Coaster

Ok this game has turned me around and I will now atleast consider buying it. Ill wait for a new trailer before im all in. It seems like they are rebuilding a lot of stuff from the ground up. Notice how the new screens shows to people etc. Thats probably because they are getting a well deserved overhaul.

First screenshot from PAX (stolen from here idk where they saw it), showing the interface maybe? Could be alpha or w/e still, but it looks really clean.

Unfortunately RCT is the kind of game that you can't really even judge from gameplay trailers. Until we know what the balance is like thanks to some enterprising souls putting a dozen or so hours into it, who knows how it will actually play?

The individual cars detaching from the trains and flying off the track doesn't make any sense physically, but it looks funny. Maybe that will be an option?

Woah... Woah. That doesn't look bad at all. I'm a bit more optimistic about this game now.

Let's see some more actual gameplay, more details about the UI and the physics.

Also, a bit unrelated... What the hell is Chris Sawyer doing nowadays? The guy was a genius. :(

Wtf, I change my mind every time I see a new picture/footage of this game. Its hilarious. The game looks pretty decent in those videos.

Funcom made Secret World, in house. I've never heard of this dev so they are probably someone that did some outsourcing. But don't be fooled, this team was not a lead developer for that game, the only one worth a damn on that list.

Nvizzio is made up of ex-Funcom Montreal devs.

Keeps looking better and better! And that preview comparing it to Cities:Skylines sounds really promising, fingers crossed.

Chris Sawyer was involved in the Transport Tycoon remake for iOS/Android.

That first screenshot in the OP.....

Looked like a park run by the Furred Reich at first glance.

I have no hopes for this, and I'm not letting any gameplay footage get my hopes up until I see positive hands-on impressions.

Hope this turns out well. I love RCT2...and 3. Another proper game in this series would be swell.

now where's my proper zoo tycoon 3 :(

Holy fuck...I need this game. I sunk sooooo many hours into the first game when I was 11. 2 was great and although I have 3, never played much of it. But this is sounding and looking like it will be pretty damn amazing.
