Saying Darkseid is a nobody is such a bizarre thing to say when Thanos was just as much a nobody at the start. Nobody knew who the hell that was either, but it doesn't matter.

That's what these movies do. They introduce the main bad guy via a second-in-command. That's the whole point - to introduce Darkseid to the general audience.

I mean do you folks think Avengers is a rip-off of Harry Potter with them collecting the Deathly Hallows?

I mean I get it's an easy comparison to make, but collecting X-artifact in a movie/game/TV show isn't unique to the Avengers nor the comic genre.

Some fans think JL think ripped off Civil War with the Bruce/Barry scene. This movie is gonna get a lot of shit thrown at it.

I think people would have their minds blown that Thanos is pretty much inspired by Darkseid.

((I'm not slayven I don't know what issue or what this is from))

Only just realized that Darkseid has vertical wrinkles on his forehead while Thanos has vertical wrinkles on his chin. Their heads are upside down versions of each other!

Of all the things in that movie, that is probably the one that I just cannot believe they actually did. Even the killing Superman thing wasn't so out there for the super accelerated rates of these movies, but damn man, you just going to introduce and kill Jimmy in the first five minutes?

I don't understand why people still don't get this. You meet someone and they give you a name. You find out they're actually in the CIA and on a mission right before they're killed. Question. Do you think said undercover agent actually gave you their real name?

It's the normal DC hate-train going on right now.

That aside, I feel like this is interesting how they mention how Batman has changed his extreme methods -- I called it before, and it seems to make sense. Maybe the new Batman will be more like its animated series counterpart now!

That shit is going to be beyond frustrating when that starts. Then when you show people the dates and truth the goal post moving that will take place will be rage inducing for some.

While it is true that Darkseid came first. Thanos is a more compelling and complex character by far.
The amount of character development is a stark contrast.

Batmobile chase was garbage. Warehouse scene was better than anything in either avengers flick from an action standpoint. Wasn't fond of the doomsday fight but that was also better too as a whole than the avengers stuff. Although avengers 1 has a better individual moment with that tracking shot of everybody doing their shit in the city.

I think man of Steel had better action too but man superman punching shit can get old pretty quickly. There's too much cgi and lack of choreography and finesse involved with a character like that in action scenes. Somebody should teach him kung fu in Justice League lol

The warehouse fight was a cool scene, but I think it has also been seriously overhyped too. Probably because it's the only bit of action in that whole (3-hour!) movie that's actually worth a damn.

Including the alter egos of the heroes in the description is really... odd. Aside from Bruce Wayne, no one gives a shit. Like, Clark Kent may as well not exist in these movies.

No one still knows or probably cares about Thanos

Fox really screwed the pooch for the MCU, Dr Doom, an easily more recognizable Marvel villian, should have been the main threat all along. (I need Doom to be done right in my life time, so it's just anger talking)

Thanos usually has more personality than Darkseid depending on the writer but Darkseid has a better mythology around him imo. I love the New Gods stuff, DS is basically space Immortan Joe.

So they are fighting a guy who was sent by another guy to find some objects all over the world.

Ugh. Just give us darkseid and get rid of cyborg while youre at it.

Batman changing his methods is what he talks about in the final monologue in BvS (besides the meaning that we all as species must change). I find it surprising that some people in here find out about it just now. I wonder how many will say that Batman doing things differently is "damage control".

Sorry but Thanos would whup Darkseid's ass

is the Comicvine Death battle forums?

Saaaame. I'm not a life long die hard Doom fan or anything but Hickman's Marvel run made me a fan and I fucking loved him in Secret Wars. It was so gleeful to have that final "RICHAAAARDS!"...felt like Wesker going "CHRIIIISSS" in Resi 5.

Darkseid doesn't need a fucking mitt to wreck someone.

This. Seriously. When he does finally appear I'm going to have no worry that WB is going to show Darkseid as he's meant to be shown. Omega beams and all. While I might not agree with some decisions I don't doubt he's going to be terrifying and a real challenge. I'm actually concerned about Thanos though. I should be super excited about him showing up finally to kick some ass but after what they've done with their last few villains, well most of them really, I'm kinda dreading how they're going to present him. I want to have those fears to look silly though but that's on Marvel to do so.

He was identified as Jimmy Olsen in the credits, too, though...

I hear ya. Fox has fucked up Dr. Doom up twice. It's rage-inducing.

I'm looking forward to Justice League but only because I know the final act will have the heroes facing insurmountable odds and just as death approaches, the greatest superhero ever, filmed by the only modern director who understands majesty, will rise from the grave to save the day.

It will be amazing.

Y'all ever read comics of a superhero team coming together? Or watched a movie of a team coming together?

How they execute it is what's really going to matter.

Yeah, some slightly embarrassing responses, honestly.

A Justice League movie has been in the works years before an Avengers movie was even thought about over at Marvel. But apparently DC is just aping the superhero team concept off of Marvel, despite the fact the Justice League as a superhero team had been around for years before the Avengers itself.

I'm not a DCEU fan, and I have my reservations about this film, but people are finding some ridiculous reasons to criticize this. Next thing you'll know, people will be criticizing Superman's outfit because it "ripped off" the colour scheme on Captain America's suit, or Cyborg for being a total "rip-off" of Iron Man because he's a gadget based superhero.

I just threw up in my mouth a little

In the wake of Clark Kent/Superman's (Cavill) death at the hands of Doomsday in BvS, vigilante Bruce Wayne/Batman (Affleck) reevaluates his extreme methods and begins reaching out to extraordinary heroes to assemble a team of crime-fighters to defend earth from all kinds of threats. Together with Diana Prince/Wonder Woman (Gadot), Batman seeks out cybernetically enhanced former college football star Vic Stone/Cyborg (Fisher), speedster Barry Allen/The Flash (Miller) and Atlantean warrior king Arthur Curry/Aquaman (Momoa). They face off against Steppenwolf (Hinds), the herald and second-in-command to alien warlord Darkseld, who is charged by Darkseid with hunting down three artefacts hidden on earth.
I pine for the day when a DCEU movie exists that doesn't have to, at least in part, be a response to the shittiness of the prior installment.

ive read like 10 milion comics

dceu is a mess, and using 3 mcguffins + darksied is a huge misstep

they couldnt even execute on a batman and superman movie, i have no faith in this

Dude, DC have no original thought. Justice League is just an Avengers rip off!

This summary must be fake.

First of all, it's a Reddit post filtered through comicbook. com.

Second of all, it doesn't say anything about standing around in rooms and staring at stuff and I'm almost positive that's a huge part of this movie.

He was identified as Jimmy Olsen in the credits, too, though...

That's the name associated with him in the film. So of course that's what is going to be listed in the credits to know who the actor is. Context behind that name, character, and what is actually happening in the scene with the characters are still important and shouldn't be ignored though. So many people are choosing it seems to ignore the actual scenes themselves. In some cases never bothered to watch that part of the film, even online, but just hear the name, what happen, and call it a day.

never going to happen, i feel :/

I'm kinda tired of global threats.

You and everyone else, I suspect...but this doesn't totally sound like that because it's Steppenwolf hunting for artifacts, but because Snyder will want some stupidly CG OTT explosion fest fight towards the end he will announce his arrival on Earth and everyone will cower and bunker down until Superman arrives to save the day. It will only be redeemed if Batfleck turns to Cavill and recites

...Fucking Steppenwolf? They're taking inspiration from the Earth-2 comics?

Steppenwolf is a character from Kirby's fourth world. I'm sure they took inspiration from that recent Darkseid Earth 2 storytelling where Steppenwolf played a big part, but I imagine that he was chosen randomly to be the villain.
