First Official NeoGAF Pokemon Tournament

Yeah, luck's a part of the game. That's why it's double elimination =P

And my bad on the post about Smogon Tournament. It is Saturday, not Sunday >.>;
 
I vote triple elimination for the next tournament. >_>


...Nah, joking. I think. But yeah, luck doesn't bother me much. I pulled out a victory against two criticals in an Emerald tournament where the rules were 3-on-3, ubers allowed, and no held items, and that was while I was using a Toxic staller who didn't have the benefit of Leftovers. Compared to that, three criticals in 6-on-6 with items and no ubers is nothing to complain about. =P
 
Yesterday I lost to some random kid >.>; One of those people you think is probably rolling a dice to do attacks.

I attacked myself in confusion 3 times (he then critical hitted me for the KO)
Then my next Pokemon attacked itself too.

I then realized that it was a Gengar who had its EVs in SpDef for some reason and I could've killed it easily if I'd thrown out another guy who I thought was too slow.

Erg. Well, he had hacked Pokemon but it was still a bit embarrasing :lol

Jiggy, aren't you entering the Smogon tournament? Thought you would as you have an account there.

TJ, I am trying to get on, but it refuses to connect on a 3 bar signal. It was working 20 minutes ago. If I'm not on in 10 minutes, I forfeit.

My whole team is based on luck. I really should build a team around stronger types, but all but two of mine are overused.
 
That was a pretty good battle. I lost, but it was a close match.

BTW, I think that one move you used a few times (don't want to give it up to anyone) is too powerful IMO.
 
Due to GAF and Nintendo's servers going down on two seperate occassions, I'll extend the deadline by 24 hours. Give me results by 9:00 PM PDT / Midnight EDT tomorrow.

Winners Bracket: If you want, you can play your next opponent. I don't mind. It'll help speed things along. Remember that they don't have to battle you if they don't want to until the round has started. Don't go more than one round in advance though. Then it'll just get complicated >_>;
 
Since it's a double elimination tournament, what happens to those of us with 1 loss? How are our opponents gonna be decided.

You're in the loser's bracket. Lose again and you're gone (hence the SRK/EVO term "two and out").
 
there is a cable outage in my area, I've been sitting at home with nothing to do. so boring. I'm posting at my ex's house right now. hopefully my internet comes back up soon
 
I'll be posting the loser's bracket up tomorrow. Since no matter what I don't understand the right way to do it, I found a free Tournament software that I'm using to do the brackets in this tournament. You will not be fighting the same person twice. Only way would be if you were in the loser's bracket, beat the winner of the winner's bracket, then had to play them again. Or if you lost to the person who won the winner's bracket and have to play them again because you won the loser's bracket.

You can change your moves, Pokemon, anything.
 
Sorry about dropping out the tourney again btw, haven't been playin to many games lately and when I do I am trying to finish up the mast case in Phoenix Wright since I'll be getting Phantom Hourglass Monday.
 
I have an hour before i have to get ready for work and me/the person im suppose to be battling had schedule conflicts yesterday so unless i can battle after work with him or within this hour dunno what happens.

Well, uh, the Nintendo DS wireless just conked out in the second half of our battle. Brodie had 3 Pokemon left and I had 3 so I don't know who would have won.
 
Me and WolfofMebu just battled, I won

Wow, really close match there. Damn status effect nearly won you the game!
Hope we get to battle again someday
 
Crap. Just realized how stupid it is for me to be in the tournament and running the tournament. I can't ask you for your teams without you revealing your teams to me ._.;

Death/Brodieman, have either of you had WiFi issues in the past?

Bleh, stupid 4x critical, basically OHKOing somebody it shouldn't. That and I'm guessing you're doing special d matching because nothing seems to be scratching your pokemon. ?_?

FYI: You are probably the tourney front runner now, I'm aware of the other big guns, I think your strategy is solid though.

Time to bring in my plan B team
