And one of the launch titles is Riiiiiidge Raceeeer? Hehe :D

But i see, i guess that it is too early to know anything about the PSP2 price.
Oh, Ridge Racer is going to be there for the launch. That much is certain!

$599 There's no rumored price atm

I just think it will be close to 3DS price,Nintendo already set the price way too high ,and in that other thread some people are A-OK with $300/250 for the 3DS so I guess that the max limit for the next PSP price , unless if there is a big surprise here ( but I don't see how this will be any cheaper when rumors says it's freaking powerful ).

Ridge Racer is a dead franchise, Namco don't give a jack about it anymore.

These are not scans, they were posted here by the guy who modeled it:

Looks really good, although I'm not really sure about the back track pad, I think it's too much having to think of so many buttons and also a touch pad, but we'll see. In the end it's all about the games, though, and I hope this is just not the same thing but with prettier graphics, they really need to do something new and appealing with it for me to spend all that extra money (I'm buying a 3DS day one)

Dual analog sticks, lots of power, modern features, and a large widescreen display could make this the first handheld I actually want.

Same here, I've never bought a hand held before. But I love high tech gadgets, and this looks like it's right up my alley.

Looks pretty ideal. If there's really a Sony Bend Uncharted game coming, ill have no choice but to buy it. I just hope they find a good media solution. Digital distribution only would suck, but an optical format would suck too.

this but.......

bummer it will be over $300, at minimum $350 if all the specs and features are correct :( so much money, the joysticks placement look odd to me.

I want to play this so bad, grrrrrr hurry up E3 so they can announce it, or sneak attack at GDC, i can only hope

man ,these sticks position remind me of Gamester FPS Controller and Radica Phoenix sticks , I hope PSP2 is not designed to be FPS/TPS device.

It it cannot do tps/fps justice, theres no reason to put it out. It has to leapfrog all handheld devices to be worthwhile. Phones, tablets, 3ds, everything. The combination of touchpanel and psn downloads will keep it from being a shooterbox exclusively.

That design is fucking ACE.

Will buy if a touch screen and rear touch pad are confirmed AND if the price isn't re-fricking-donkulus.

Edit: IF that turns out to be the actual design.

Wait, so if it was modeled by some random dude, then it was a fake all along? I don't think Sony would be too happy with one of it's employees leaking plausible prototypes to the public.

EDIT: Nvm, he was just remodeling the supposedly leaked psp2 prototype for PSM3 magazine

Yes, it was modeled for PSM3 magazine based on supposedly leaked spy shots of the Sony PSP2.

Why havent handhelds had dual analogue since they started doing 3D titles? With one stick you're stuck with gimped improvised controls like in Peacewalker.

It's why I won't be buying a 3DS at launch.

Those sticks look way to buried into the mold of the system. Would be impossible to get to them with a finger, or using them in any kind of way. Horrible.

Aren't those the genres that need the sticks? lol

Well.. PW has the best controls in the series.

Isn't the 3DS's touch screen essentially a second analog stick, though?...

Nope since you can't quickly and smoothly switch between the screen and using the face buttons like you can with an analog stick.

Nope, not at all. They managed to streamline everything because they had to rethink the system. 4 was good as well, but stuff like crawling needed to go.

A second analog would've been better yes, but the face buttons work just fine, especially with aim assist and you can switch to auto aim on the fly.

every 3d game need the dual sticks , I think some other non 3d shooters games will suffer from this "FPS" sticks placement , games that require heavy use of face buttons and right sticks like Ninja Gaiden or God of War for example.

this is a perfect stick setting if Sony want this system to be FPS/TPS only box since it's the same as some FPS controllers ,but for other games/genres I am not really sure about the sticks.

Yeah 4 does, but PW certainly has great controls.

and penguins can fly and they shits golden ninja babies

=/ It really does. It takes the excellent controls from Syphon Filter and makes them better. The only problem is that the analogue nub just isn't as good as a real analogue stick. I hope the same controls transfer over with Metal Gear Solid 3 on 3DS.

Yep, I'm with you. Controlled perfectly. You just couldn't move the camara diagonal, but it's wasn't really needed since it's not a shooter.

Totobeni said:

Nope, not really. A smart camara system will get around that. Stuff like Galaxy and Other M. TP is an example of doing it wrong. Of course, some do, like Monster Hunter.

H_Prestige said:
Yes. But that is a really important thing in 3D games.

I do not see the problem. We been playing 3D based games since PS1 days and N64 only had one analog stick and it worked well. Its all about the design of the game and if they allow different types of control.

Its not a "major" issue like most people make it to be. Metriod Prime Hunters for DS was perfect imo.

H_Prestige said:

It is, if you design a camara like in Epic Mickey, where you should have a second analogue, but you don't. If the camara is smart, you won't need one. Of course that limits the games than will play good on the system, a second analogue is better.
