Eel skin is leathery and thick looking, and while it appears smooth it also has consistent tiny pebbling. The colors have minor fluctuations between different shades of aqua blue and green, and it has the slight chroming in certain areas as well. I'm just saying, it doesn't look like an eel at all..other than the fact that he is shiny blue. I like your idea though, it would look better if they actually emulated the picture you posted.

Basically, while he shares the shiny electric blue color, his skin texture doesn't come off as eel like to me at all. Especially with the electric looking veins.

I think he's just saying since these new movies have some focus on cross species stuff, that Electro's animal might be an eel.

Anyway, can we stop talking about eels, those things are so gross looking.
 
Wait, the hoodie is part of the outfit?

I thought for sure these were in-between take photos or something.

Jamie Foxx already confirmed that the final costume will be something like this.

EDIT: Apparently he will glow using a practical lighting effect in some scenes. No CG yet.

They could have always gone with his Ultimate Spider-Man costume, it's much more film-friendly.

What's to say he doesn't? They don't shoot movies from beginning to end, they're shot out of order. If this sequence needs CGI work done on it, it would make sense to shoot it before a scene that doesn't, so that they have time to add the effects in while the rest of the movie is being shot. There's no way for us to know at this point if he goes from normal straight to blue Ultimate Electro, or if he goes through stages.

That said, I think it looks sick as fuck. He obviously has special paint on that reacts to the LEDs in his hoodie to make his skin glow, and when they add in CGI electricity I think it'll look even better.
 
I think it looks good? I absolutely hated the original one though, so much so that I'm going to likely wait for it to hit Bluray before I check it out.
 
Im all for the new design. I think it looks cool especially with the practical lighting going on in the pictures posted above. It helps it get away from the CGI of the Lizard, which will be nice.

Now bring on THE RHINO

Why didn't they CG it. The effect looks awful. And being a portable Tesla sphere isn't a costume.

Electro was never an interesting super hero because of his costume nor did it help him in any way. It always looked super goofy-- so I dont think anyone should really care.
 
TAS was better than all Marvel movies beside Avengers and may be Irron man so i don't know where the hate is coming from. obviously no cg upped shot will look bad. Spider man looked good in TAs and i remember people also made fun of that

No doubt you'll see a CG'fied Electro in the film. I rather them do it as practical as possible first though (with maybe a lil blend of CG to touch things up). I usually don't like all CG villains, the worse thing about TASM was how poorly the Lizard was handled as a character and how it was too CGish. I'm sure you'll see him in scenes where he is completely CG, that's a given.

It doesn't look like him in some of the low quality pics, but you can definitely tell that it's him in some of the better ones.

Gobby had a shit design but was twice, hell three times the villain though. So the awful design gets somewhat of a pass. It's still hard for me to look at though.

Out of all the good to decent Lizard concept art they had, they chose this piece of shit one to be final. I will never fathom it. At least we're getting the best Spidey suit yet!

I do not want to imagine what they'll do to Rhino at this point. I don't think Electro will look that bad when finalized on film though.
