It's more about the fact that whereas classic Sonic, in my mind, is about the mix of breakneck speedways and cautious platforming, the Sonic Rush games are basically about the rollercoaster aspect and throwing whatever gimmicks they can at you; compared to anything in Sonics 1-3 or CD, the levels are totally vapid and boring. They're still fun, but definitely not what I want from a new console Sonic.Teknoman said:How so? Sonic Rush Adventure and I think the original Rush as well, had 3d perspective change parts. But as things stand now, the pure 2.5D camera sections look just like a Rush game.
When the camera leaves Sonic, that just seems to be a kinda Debug/spectator camera mode to just show off stuff.
EDIT: Unless you didnt like Rush...then I guess I see where you're coming from.
I actually kinda do.sykoex said:Hope you enjoy watching Sonic break dance upon completion of each level.

What scares me is stuff like the first pic in Tiduz post. Sonic grinding on a single rail, big whoop... no enemies, no spots where the rail drops out and you have to jump over it, not a thing to dodge...I AM JOHN! said:It's more about the fact that whereas classic Sonic, in my mind, is about the mix of breakneck speedways and cautious platforming, the Sonic Rush games are basically about the rollercoaster aspect and throwing whatever gimmicks they can at you; compared to anything in Sonics 1-3 or CD, the levels are totally vapid and boring. 1- See catchy non-rock tunes back in Sonic games (besides the portable editions)
2- 2.5D gameplay?
PLUS Sonic design moved a step back to its roots.
ZOMG! Has Sega really listened to its non vomit eating Sonic fans?

Linkzg said:also, I am not going to hate on Wolf Sonic yet, if he controls just like Sonic then I have no problem, it depends on how they deal with it.
Nash said:It's Sega, Wolf Sonic wouldn't be there if he didn't have a different game altering/breaking gameplay mechanic.
We've had guns, fishing, telekinesis ...what unwanted ingredient can Sega introduce to the mix this time?
AdmiralViscen said:That site now has a full retraction and apology of that bit of info about Wolf Sonic and Tails/Knuckles. It was fake.
Sega Magazin said:First, we apologize for our fault to post those fake news about the Sonic plot and the confirmation that it would be 2D, gameplay-wise. However, we go on with our own new facts: SEGA is launching SONIC UNLEASHED with a HUGE production budget and it seems not only SONIC TEAM is involved but a very huge part of SEGAs developer teams including those from Japan, the US and, apparently for the first time, even Europe. There seems to be one clear mission: Rebuild the Sonic brand and prove it could work in 3D environments. We also have one new artwork for you.

So. Maybe Werehog is an entirely different game from this one!?
Win!
Wait.....which pictures are fake?? All of them? Or just the werehog thing? I hope the gameplay looking pics are real, because it looked pretty good.Tiduz said:really? Wolf isnt in?
HURRAY.
Tails knuckles not in? If they had sonics gameplay then :sadface
if they had search for the fucking emeralds then HURRAY.
Holy shit? I actually believe this could work out? WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME IM SCARED.

jj984jj said:That would be a smart decision, this is Sega. Downgraded 3D for Wii is what I know we'll see, and there will be no reason to buy it over the next-gen version at all.
This thread is going to turn into those horrible Resident Evil 5 threads - I just know it.nightside said:the reason could be "I only own a wii":lol
I really can't see any problem if this game comes on wii too.

Basch said::O Dreamcast 2 confirmed? I'm telling you guys. Something about this just seems awfully suspicious. The A button doesn't even look like the A button on a 360 controller. More Gamecube. But it could actually be from the new Dreamcast 2 controller. If we don't start getting news before E3 on this, I will start thinking its for the DC2 more and more. If Sega can afford a production this huge, they should be able to afford supporting a new console. Come on. Say it with me people. Dreamcast 2.
Djungelfrukt said:Okay, this is my understanding of the current situation.
The pictures we've seen are all real, and probably from a PS3/360 title.
The Werehog artwork, also supposedly belonging to Official Nintendo Magazine, is an entirely different title, probably for the Wii.
This, ladies and gentlemen, could be WIN.

I don't think any of us can imagine how expensive and difficult task it is to release a successful console. I doubt Dreamcast 2 is coming, Sega should focus on being known for quality again first.Basch said::O Dreamcast 2 confirmed? I'm telling you guys. Something about this just seems awfully suspicious.
