First time NCIX.com buyer, can I trust it?

Hi, I currently just recieved some money from my parents to buy a laptop, and after checking some out at Futureshop and Best Buy, I looked at NCIX.com and found a great one.

It needed to have a decent video card and needed to be under $850 after taxes.

So this is my first time purchasing something this big from the internet and don't know if I can trust it or not with my money, very paranoid.

What was your past experience like with NCIX?

also what does GAF think about this laptop?

It says it's out of stock, when do they usually restock them?

Thank You.

i dont know the answer to your questions..

but ive used ncix.com a million times and i've never had a problem

I use NCIX all the time though I always do in store pick up and not delivery so I can't comment on their shipping practices. NCIX is perfectly safe. If the item is out of stock you should ask them when they expect a new shipment.

I built a PC with every single part being ordered from NCIX. Didn`t have one problem with them. Highly recommended. Canada`s answer to Newegg, basically. (Even though Newegg now does business with us too.)

How are they at shipping south of the border, as in to the US? Why are they so cheap? They have the newest aspire one for $350. That is very tempting.

NCIX is awesome. Use shopbot.ca to search for a better price on what you're looking for, then use NCIX's price matching for the discount.

NCIX online is good but in store service is lacking. Still the best national computer retailer.

Zaphod, check NewEgg first... I haven't seen anything cheaper on NCIX vs NewEgg USA

NCIX is the best place to buy computer equipment online for Canadians. My current computer as well as the one it replaced was built using parts from NCIX exclusively.

-Price matching
-shipping options
-payment options
-choice
-expediency
-support

Everything about the place is great.

I bought a custom made computer from them and had it shipped to Ontario. I couldn't have been happier with them. Very helpful and professional people.

I usually use newegg but the Canadians have them beat on this one by $50. We'll see how this works. The only bad thing is I am getting the Canadian model with a multilingual keyboard. At least my girlfriend can read and write French.

Does it say it specifically has a multilingual keyboard, or are you just assuming that it does because it's Canadian? Most computers up here come with standard us keyboards unless otherwise requested/specified. And if it actually does have the multilingual keyboard, do they not have a us keyboard model in stock or something?

No, NCIX is a tiny, shady basement run outfit that nobody has ever heard of. You shouldn't trust it at all.

Best online store out there, I buy all my shit from there, their newsletters usually have great deals and awesome specials. The only drawback to the site is that shipping is expensive even within Canada, shouldn't cost 15$ to send out a small router that's not being Xpressposted. I price match all the time with Canadian retailers and they're very easy to deal with.

Newegg.ca can go fuck itself with it's overpriced shit, even with the CAD doing shit prices haven't changed much on NCIX. If you're buying within Canada and living in Ontario 5% tax is better than paying full 13% on all your goods.

NCIX's RMA policy if you choose to buy it is a godsend, helped me with EVERYTHING, even forced XFX to give me a credit or option of an upgrade after their cards kept failing on me.

I've spent thousands of dollars on NCIX over the years buying computer related parts. I've had 0 problems with them. I've even bought open boxed items and had 0 issues. I could be lucky, but seller feed back is quite high and I'm sure if you do run into a problem they seem to be the kind of company to sort things out properly.

You can 100% trust NCIX, without a doubt. My last two PCs have been components I selected from NCIX, had assembled by NCIX, and had shipped to me by NCIX, and both rigs arrived in good time, in perfect order, with a sheet detailing what tests were run, by who, and at what time, and whatever benchmarks were achieved. I wholeheartedly recommend them.

And that was for having an entire PC built for me. Youre just looking for components, so it will be a walk in the park. Go for it.

Holy Shitcakes that was comically fast. Do they use ninjas or something?

Quite often I've ordered stuff on a thursday morning and I had it on my desk on friday by noon, and I'm on the opposite coast.

For 10$ shipping.

Yeah. I loves me my NCIX. :)

I only ever had one problem with them - and they promptly resolved it. I was buying components all over the place and had an order for a Soundblaster X-Fi (yeah yeah I know) that I needed very quickly so I paid a bit extra for faster shipping (this was a few years ago). Turns out there was a huge snowstorm in the area and they couldn't ship it in time, so I complained a bit and they just said "You know, you're right. So we'll pay for your shipping instead. Thanks!".

I love them to death. It's the only place I ever buy computer parts from now, and I recommend EVERYONE I know to go there.

I think their decision to pay 20$ for my shipping paid off magnificently :)

NCIX is pretty good. It's not as magically wonderful as NewEgg is in the US, but it's clearly the best option for Canada. My only complaint, really, is that their retail outlets can be tough to deal with as they are chronically understaffed, and assembly can also get delayed a bit.

For straight parts orders they are hard to beat.

It's actually better then Newegg in the US when it comes to returns and shipping. The only thing that sets newegg apart is the fact they have a wider selection.

I'd argue that pricing would be another one, though. Amazon and NewEgg sort of change the way you shop after awhile. :lol
