First time playing Beyond. Chronological order or original?

What's the best way to play Beyond: Two Souls for the first (and probably) only time? I just bought it and I'd like the enjoy the best experience.

Having just started playing yesterday for the first time after getting the original recommended by friends, I'd say chronological.

I played it on PS3 with it's original order, and when it came to PS4, I played it in chronological. I think it was much much better when played in chronological order. Things actually make a little more sense, and I don't get why it wasn't like that in the first place.

As someone who played it in the original format, definitely chronological.

The reason for it being out of order does not justify the fact that it makes the story way more confusing and disjointed.

I just bought this too
why the hell is it out of order, being light on spoilers please?

This sounds stupid
right up my alley for games.

The PS4 version has chronological order as an option? Didn't know that.

I really can't remember what the payoff of playing in the original order was, so I would go in chronological. Also, if possible, take out the desert section, wherever it is in the game is a drag.

Chronological order is broken and a patch to fix the issue has not been released, basically it leaves out 2 o3 chapters out of the game completely. There are a few scenes that carry more weight if you don't play the game in order, but besides preference there"s a reason why you don't play the chapters "in order", plot wise speaking. Go in with zero expectations and avoid spoilers if possible. I'm glad I ignored all the hate towards the game and really enjoyed the game.

it's a stupid story in chronological order

but it's a stupid story trying to be pretentious and utterly failing in its original format.

Chronological. I started playing it as it was originally made but got to a point where I felt like "who are these people and why should I care?". Ended up starting from scratch and playing chronologically and it was a much better experience.

The only advantage to playing the original way was that it seemed to have been designed to get you into the actiony parts quicker. They should have adapted some of the tutorials to show up relatively earlier in chronological mode though.

Chronological. The original way it's presented adds nothing to the story, in fact sections of peril are muted because you already know the outcome as you've seen what happens after already.
It was Cage trying to be clever and it's a mess. Play it in order and the story actually works.

Is that really going to change if you play it chronologically? It's not like you're going to be on the edge of your seat wondering if the main character is going to die in the first few scenes of the game or anything.

I'm really surprised at all the chronological answers. I didn't like the game much but playing it chronologically would take away one of the few interesting things about it. It's cool jumping around to different points in her life, and the highs and lows are laid out deliberately to pace the story. I guess playing chronologically would make it easier to follow, but I didn't have a problem and the individual scenes are much more interesting than the plot as a whole anyway.

I mean clearly it's meant to be played in the original mode. Seems like a pretty clear choice if you're only going to play it once.
