not only is it a great beat em up and story game. It's the BEST Japan simulator out there. (serious)
If you really want to visit Japan but can't , this is the best game to simulate the feel, sounds and sights.. it's amazing.

As someone who has played yakuza 0 on ps4 and is now playing 5 on ps3. Its staggering how much better 0 looks even though its a cross gen title.

1 and 2 are on PS2 (there was a remastered version on PS3, but it wasn't translated). 0 comes out next year in English. The Samurai games, as well as the PSP spinoffs, were not translated.

Global cultures are becoming synergised. A good game is universally accepted. I think more Japanese companies will start localizing their library to Western markets and it's rather exciting to see games like Yakuza 6 kicking off the trend.

I still don't know whether to play Yakuza 4 or start the series with 0 when it comes.(don't tell me to play 4 just because 0 is coming out later, I'm in no rush)

Y4 was my first Yakuza game. Play that one. Great story and fun as hell. The only character you would have a little bit of trouble following is Kiryu. The other stories are more easily understood even if you havent played the other Yakuza games. At least it was for me.

Yes. They've told every story possible that they could tell with Kiryu. By 4, it's reached unbelievable levels that all this stuff could keep happening to the same guy. Kiryu doesn't need to be one of the playable protagonists, he just need to be relegated to NPC status. Move on from him. Imagine if FF 8, 9, 10, and 12 starred Cloud.
