Five Nights at Freddy's 3 Teased

My body is ready!

You can tell that Scott absolutely loves making these games, and it shows. The games may not be the most mechanically deep, or the most graphically intense, but they are filled with love, excellent character designs, great stories and hidden depth.

I really hope Scott focuses on making something in Unity this time rather than Clickteam Fusion. He's already admitted that FNAF2 was seriously pushing Fusion's limits as it is, he's better off making something in a real-time 3D engine, even if it would take a bit more time, because of the flexibility.

I don't get these games. At all. So shitty.

It's not for everyone, really. It's the lore and the characters that are more compelling than the actual gameplay, though said gameplay, as limited as it is, is nerve-wracking as shit, and Scott knows how to do creepy shit.

can now see pointed teeth with blood on them, and yes it is definitely the
golden bear

As a huge fan of games like Night Trap and Double Switch, I enjoy what Five Nights has to offer.

I wish there was more to it, though, more strategy than just watching different animatronics at different times. Eventually, both games get so hard that they devolve to watching one or two rooms constantly while monitoring the doorways/vents every so often, because watching the animatronics normally eventually just gets pointless.

For everyone taking issue with the frequency of releases, have any of you actually played these games? They are small tightly focused scare games that cost like 8 bucks at launch. Makes perfect sense to release these frequently, especially since they are really entertaining. These are more akin to episodic gaming if anything.

Third one is fine, but the gameplay from the previous two will begin to dry up. Hopefully it does something other than checking cameras and protecting yourself when the buddies are near you.

Got the first one for free on my tablet with the amazon app.

Thought it was really bad. yet enjoyed the youtube lets plays Incredible how many ppl like watching others play games instead of playing themselves as it is actually more entertaining.

I wish Mario would stop being about jumping on turtles. The gameplay is beginning to dry up.

What gets me is how human the eyes look. Falls in line with how we know that
the killer used the golden Freddy suit

Mario doesn't release turtle jumping games several times a year, within a very small window of each other.

Is he just supposed to sit on his beloved new creation because, what, guys on the internet say so? Is there a statute of limitations on these things? Only release your game after a set amount of time?

Five Nights at Freddy's is appealing to the under served Horror fandom, and it's completely unique when compared to most games out there. Scott Cawthon is living the indie dream, dude should ride for as long as he can, especially if he keeps making really good games.

These games should really be on the Wii U eShop. The touch pad would be perfect. As much as I love these games, I'd much prefer them on a console over my iPad.

I doubt they'll do it, but I think a Wii U iteration in this series could be really cool! Or at least a port.

And yeah, the eyes in that teaser do look pretty human... Wonder if you'll be up against the killer in-person? Somehow? The "I am still here" makes me think that something about the original killer is still gonna be present beyond merely being a ghost.
Or it could be another prequel, and you're actually up against another human?
I'd wonder if you actually played as the killer, but these games have done a good job of being bloodless so far.

What's the story reason for why the security guard keeps working there if he knows the animatronics will try to kill him? Is the economy that bad?

i think its supposed to be a diffrent guard for part 1 and 2 considering
that part 2 is a prequel

You should check out Scott's other work. The dude just seems super talented at making weird "Creatures 3D" style graphics and crazy game mechanics. The Desolate Hope is $5 on Steam and it sure is interesting.

also he use to make Christian children movies.

He's definitely milking it, but he has to. The game is a one trick pony, if he doesn't capitalize on the idea someone else will.

Seriously. It's just a jump scare game that got popular because of all of us that remember chuck e cheese and showtime pizza.

I don't even own either already released game but I like watching videos of people playing it. Best to get that money now.

The plot hole is why anyone with just a little bit of sanity could possibly keep working in that god forsaken pizzeria after the first day. Otherwise (Heavy spoiler ahead),
FNAF 2 it's a prequel that takes place before the first one.

Yeah, but each game still takes place over five nights. My question is, why does someone work one night at a place where it turns out all of the animatronics are monsters, and then comes back the next night for another shift??

maybe you were the guy who found out and no one really told you? maybe you didnt believe the stories, it cant be that bad they said, and besides you could really use the money.....

I'm pretty sure most people would alert the authorities and then find a job that doesn't involve demon robots trying to kill you.

In 2, the phone guy doesn't reveal (or realize) how bad things are getting until very late on. And technically you're always playing the character before they do something bad (to you).

And on the final day
the phone guy is shocked you showed up, a company-wide memo you missed said not to. He then reasons it's best to finish out your shift, rather than try to make an escape, which will possibly piss off or confuse the animatronics even more.

Five Nights at Freddy's 4: How Freddy Got His Groove Back

It'd be better if he called them episodes rather than numbered entries.

Have there been any hints at the nature of the animatronics? Are they malicious AIs? Demons? Aliens?

it would seem that the AI in the bots malfunction and its also hinted that
the place is haunted and theres supernatural forces at work

Sweeeeeeeeet

I love the premise. Wish they would get this game a big budget and add more gameplay variety.

It's bizarre; I've never been so fond of a series that I've never actually played. I watched Markiplier play through both games in their entirety, I've read up on their Wikis, I've watched both the Game Theory videos, and I've also followed some of the memes, parodies, etc.

The tone and lore of these games honestly give me chills; I remember being on edge when watching them.

I own both games, but having watched playthroughs, I'm not too fussed about playing them anytime soon. I might make a point of playing the third one myself though. I honestly don't know if I'll be able to handle it though; something about these games just really gets my blood curdling. The lore probably gets me more than the jumpscares, to be honest. Fuck, the death minigames in FNaF2 are really fucking disturbing.

Even if I don't play FNaF3, I'll be buying it on day 1 to show support to Scott Cawthon. I think releasing these as quickly as possible while people are still interested is actually a great idea. Not only that, it's really fucking impressive that he's capable of doing so.

'The Saw' of video games.

Pff, nah.

FNaF's horror comes from a tightly-controlled aesthetic, and though it gets shit-talked for jump scares a lot, they're not really effective without the atmosphere that Scott makes elsewhere in the game. The biggest criticism you could make about FNaF is how basic they are - buildup, buildup, big shock, ad infinitum. I'm not expecting this guy to make the next Amnesia.

Saw is various disgusting imagery repeatedly drilled into your skull.

So is the second game actually interesting game design wise? The first game is a bore.

It's definitely better in terms of the scare factor and lore, though while it does introduce a few new mechanics, it isn't that different, gameplay-wise. The most significant changes are:

1) There are no doors to close; instead there is one open entrance to your office, and you have to wear a fake Freddy Fazbear head if the animatronics appear. But this doesn't fool Foxy, who you need to shine your flashlight at.

2) There's a puppet box in one of the rooms. You need to use the camera to view this room and it wind it up regularly. If the box winds down completely, the puppet animatronic will come for you. It can't be stopped or prevented if it does.

3) There are more than double the amount of animatronics, so it's trickier to manage everyting.

Yeah, but each game still takes place over five nights. My question is, why does someone work one night at a place where it turns out all of the animatronics are monsters, and then comes back the next night for another shift??

Well, it's you, the player, who comes back. You could always just not play the game after one night. Lame excuse, I know

Well,
the phone guy tells you that they're malfunctioning AI's who think you're one of them, only without a suit. So they're trying to help you out by putting you into one. It's why putting on a Freddy mask makes them leave you alone in 2. However, it's hinted that there were several murders in the restaurant and the animatronics are possessed by the souls of dead kids. Golden Freddy was supposedly the suit the killer wore when he carried out the murders.

Actually, I really like that idea. :-D
