Flatliners Reviews (0% on Rotten Tomatoes!)

The premise doesn't even make sense. Somehow flatlining in this version makes them super healthy and strong. What? Who came up with that nonsense. It's used as the reason for the other people in the group to try it. You know, as if dying isn't that serious of an issue and the chances of resuscitation is a low chance.

I thought the theatrical trailer made it look mildly interesting, at least for people who might not know about the original.

But that 0% tho'. Gotdamn.

Spoiler: Everyone is a sayian in this version

I remember enjoying the original when I was younger. I saw a preview for this and was like "wtf is this a remake of that baconator movie where they kill themselves?"

Sucks it's not getting good reviews. Conceptually it's interesting.

it's like those manhuas where when you die you enter an ancestral temple where time is 1 / 10000 and you have time to work out, study, and ultimately cultivate to a higher level. i hear ellen page reaches past the manifestation stage.

That happens a lot in manhuas? lol. How do they reconcile the living body changing or not? Like those stories of someone getting whisked away to a fantasy world, but it seems like nothing changed when they returned, but now they can beat up their bullies.

Looking forward to seeing this. Liked the original, the trailers for this one look good too. Balls to reviews.

I saw the trailer and thought as it was going that the premise might be interesting, but then as it went on I was like "wait a minute I've seen this before".

I was still kinda interested (and I still think it's an interesting premise), but I didn't think it would be THIS bad.

I thought this was a remake of the Micheal J Fox movie, but that was apparently Frighteners. You should go watch that instead.

Holy shit this is a sequel not a remake!?!?

Dude i watched that shit at home and i felt physcially tired after watching it. Like I been jogging 60 miles

I managed an hour of that movie. Actually felt physically ill watching it. Combination of a slight cold + the most eratic and jerky camerawork I've had the displeasure of viewing in ages. WTF is UP with the cinematography in that movie? It's like they can't let the camera linger on a scene for more than 5 seconds, unless, of course, it's an explosion and then the slow-mo kicks in...

I'm not usually one to want others hard work to fail but everytime I saw trailers for this it looked obnoxiously bad.

My friends have a meter of rating trailers: that looked good or straight to DVD. We had to invent a new tier for this trash: straight to CTV.

Now i really want to watch this.
I should be available on demand soon cuz im guessing its theatre run will be short as shit.

I feel like I haven't seen Ellen Page in anything decent since she came out. I hope it hasn't fucked up her career.

I was baffled when I saw this trailer

Remake for a bad movie with a passable premise? Hmmm ok I guess they are going to try to make this better...hmmm..the trailer is terrible though..what are they doing?

That was my thought process.

Damn

Too bad, really. Conceptually the original worked and would be great to remake, but they dropped the ball. Maybe that's the issue: it really was a movie that's just an idea, character and story really weren't a part of it.

So has anyone seen the 1990 one?

Years ago. I don't really remember much about it other then I thought the premise of it was pretty interesting and creepy. That's largely it. I was pretty damn young and likely shouldn't have been watching it at the time.

It's a total slog. None of it makes sense. It doesn't at least look or sound cool. It's like a Final Destination movie, if you took out the Rube Goldberg deaths that make those movies slightly amusing. It's just dumb and boring.

I don't think so. She just hasn't been doing a lot of larger budget films, lately. They've all been dramas, for the most part. In fact she just did one with Kate Mara

Frighteners was awesome... and fun fact... it was actually the third Tales from the Crypt Movie for about 90% of its development, right alongside Demon Knight, and Bordello of Blood.

As soon as someone stood up and said "Hey, you know what we should remake? Flatliners." a Rush Hour mystery foot should have materialized and kicked that genius in the damn face.
