i think IPS screen might help. or LED? i have an LCD and it shows line. lol but if your phone has auto focus gently sway it slowly as you capture the image and it'll look like it's not a capture of a monitor.

Yeah, anytime I get a good convo going with someone we move to WhatsApp/Kik or something. The app needs some serious polish. Half the time, new private messages won't show up, or no notifications appear.

Pretty sure he was in a class at the time. So...yeah, I guess just be careful what you show if you don't want people to find out where you are? Heh.

But I did find some other nearby homes and stuff that were neat to look at. I tried to start a conversation with him so I could warn him about showing specific stuff but he didn't really bite. He did reply but it was one word and no conversation.

Mainly I was just curious if I could figure out where he was due to seeing a particular ship and a cathedral within the shot.

That's fine. I wasn't going to do anything with it but just offer friendly advice to the fellow but oh well. And it was really just out of my own curiosity to see if I could use the small amount of detail in the picture to figure out where it was from. It was a fun experiment.

What is even more interesting is that not only are user IDs returned, we also get user location data returned in the form of longitude and latitude. The precision on this data is up to 17 decimal places which in my tests was accurate enough to locate the building I was in and return the building number from the Google Geocoding API.
