I don't know it looks a little too much like the Godzilla 1998 film (not the design but the feel).

Not really....

Also very relevant.

I saw that one really late into my Godzilla watching when I was younger.

I remember it being way too trippy for my tastes. I suppose it did come out in '71 so it makes sense.

I haven't seen it in years, but the weird sounds Hedorah made are stuck in my brain. I hope this leads to a resurrgance in Godzilla popularity and in turn makes a fully Godzilla based Rampage remake for next gen consoles.

It still looks like someone (within the movie) is filming it with a flip-camera.

You still aren't understanding. There is a hall where real actual people walk through at Comic Con. There is a window at the end, and through that window you can see Godzilla. It looks like it was filmed with a camera because it was.

The actual Godzilla movie is not a found-footage movie.

People should have realized that the scale used in this poster was only for effect:

Glad this footage puts that to rest.

People who have seen the actual trailer say Godzilla is massive and he crushes a giant spider monster with his foot.

It was mentioned at SDCC that this Godzilla is the largest one yet as far as how tall he is. They didn't say how tall obviously but they did say being able to hide somewhere was still a concern.

can anyone make out what floor the elevator stops at?

Looks like 25 or 26 to me.

That's significantly larger than GINO '98, right?

This is assuming they designed the floor stop deliberately at the 'event'. ;)

Looked like 25 to me, but if we go by the descriptions people have given from the newer trailer. He'll be even bigger than that.

Wondering though how big they'll make him. Not sure where it was, but I believe Gareth stated that he'll be slightly bigger in this movie than he's ever been before. Guess that at least puts him upwards of 300 feet or so.

It looks great and thank gosh someone came through and leaked this footage. This isn't the final design, but it's still great to see what direction they are headed.

*fans herself*

Whoa. Everything looked and sounded fantastic. My hype is through the roof; this is my most anticipated film of 2014 by a large, large margin.

Tallest Film Godzilla so far has been 328 feet. So maybe see him around 400 this time which would put him round 27-28 stories tall.

People are forgetting that this Godzilla was probably scaled appropriately for the "Godzilla Encounter" experience. If they didn't, when he was walking by the window attendees would likely only see his leg, which is great, but not nearly as exciting as seeing his face [as well as his face looking back at you]. Basically it was a tease as to what to expect from the design, but not-so-much the scale.

I'm feeling pretty confident that he'll be massive in-size, and honestly, I cannot wait. This is definitely my most hyped movie for 2014.

Guys, Godzilla in the trailer was huge. Like massive. We only saw his foot and back, before he crushed another monster that itself wiped out a helicopter. Don't sweat his size, they're definitely shooting for the moon on this.

The Godzilla Experience scale was way smaller than what was in the trailer.

god no. 2014 Godzilla looks much more like the original from the 90's (which were my fave designs)

Heisei Era was definitely the best look. And movies. The Millennium Era was really hit and miss. You'd think the suit would be the best, but I think it looked bad for all but one or two of those.

I wish I could have seen this in person so badly. When I was a kid and my parents were going through a divorce I'd spend entire weekends marathoning Toho Godzilla and Kaiju movies. They mean a lot to me and I'm super excited that Gareth Edwards is behind this. The reveal would have been amazing in person.
