For all you DRIVECLUB enjoyers.

Nah, real purists know that the best way to enjoy Driveclub is at 30fps, 1080p

the best way to enjoy Driveclub is through low framerate gifs that are completely covered with motion blur and rain effects.

you know in Ready Player One, where everyone is just in the virtual world all the time while the real world is a shithole?
driveclub is kinda like that. low quality gifs are the virtual world, and actually playing it is the real world in this analogy.

Ok I'm not crazy lol. That game didn't look half as good as the gifs imply

the game came out in 2014…

And no matter how bad you think it looks, it plays extremely well, there really haven't been any good games in this style since.

Looks great, though it could really use some upscalling.
Sony closing Evolution studios still stings, even more so in light of how shit most of their acquisitions have been in the 10 years since.

I think it was already a thing (kinda I guess, not fully). Just like Bloodborne.
Someday perhaps I will enjoy those both titles at 60fps with improvements, but not thanks to Sony.

Judging by some comments, I guess this game really is the gift that keeps on giving.. 12 years old and still making some people as salty as ever.

Imagine playing the game in 2014, and 12 years later, fully aware of how many of its elements haven't even been matched, deciding to take the "actually only in Gif" stance..

Just because I'm bored I'd like to reiterate that the video in OP is running at 30fps, despite what the frame counter in it says.

And you people can't even notice.

It got delisted why would there be a remaster/60fps patch of all things?
To respect the owners of the game with basic BC features.

But people can notice the frame rate counter on the game.

and had worse track asset quality than Forza 4 on Xbox 360

And no matter how bad you think it looks, it plays extremely well, there really haven't been any good games in this style since.

it didn't. the extremely arcady driving physics that almost felt like being glued to the track stood in a weird contrast with racing rules that gave you time penalties for slightly going off-track.

it felt extremely weird to play. like if you took Ridge Racer 7's driving physics, but removed the drifting mechanic... just weird.

Because is one of the best games of PS4. Only who played would know this, so I understand your question.
If they don't consider the low effort of just renewing licenses and keeping the entire game on the store (because it doesn't sell the volume needed) they're not going to do it for a 60fps patch.

P.S: I played it day one btw. Still transfer my game from console to console along with PT.

I can't agreee with this.

Need to get it before it goes out of print and cost $400 then.
It got delisted 7 years ago and remains under $20 today for a disc. Not sure how much higher it will go the more retro it becomes but you could probably grab it off ebay for cheap right now if you're interested.

PS5 players big mad they cant play FH6

Michael Jordan Reaction GIF
If they're emulating a PS4 on a PC they can play FH6 if they wanted to.

Insomniac might be the only success that was 100% worth every penny. I think it was around $250 million.

Didn't some Evolution devs end up at Codemasters and many of those ended up at Playground anyways?

Fuck Sony forever for never porting this to PC and PS5 and letting it die like a diseased dog. One of the best racing games ever made.
Thank god for PC and emulator developers.

Not bullshots as it doesn't change anything in photomode.
Yeah, this is true. Driveclub is maybe the game that started a rightfully suspicious attitude towards Photo Mode shots.
You could see the rendering quality increase before your own eyes in real time. It was sick, but also deceiving.

Driveclub visuals and whole techinical features were made to be appreaciated while driving. Their AA solution only works properly when in motion (this is before console TAA), so you can see all those ugly ass screenshots while staying still that do not represent the game at all. Track assets can vary in quality, but that's because doing otherwise would have been a very dumb way to make the game less optimized. You're supposed to run past that scenery while surrounded in motion blur and dynamic lights from the incredible volumetric clouds simulation. And yet there's some incredible assets at times, awesome POM use all over the place, and some legit photoreal foliage.

Saying "It looks good only in Gif" is stupid, Gifs are the only way players have to quickly share visuals in motion, as they are supposed to be seen.

If there was a way to quickly share 1080p footage that's fast to load on the Forum, the whole Gif argument would have never existed.
